The Bumble is Back, Baby!

Post by Jkpa »

The BB has returned!

I sold my Bumble a couple years ago in my quest for the Submariner (part of 10 CWs to go in that period to accumulate funds). In late 2024, I sold my last two CWs – the Abyss SH21 and The Beast chronograph. The Abyss SH21 is IMO the coolest and greatest CW ever, and The Beast being my all-time favorite CW, I didn’t exactly know if I’d ever own a CW again. Some less than amazing reliability with some C60 divers of various ages led me (and my wife) to grow frustrated with the brand, to some degree.

But here we are – the looks of this watch sets it apart from so much competition, in my view. The contrast is brilliant, the color accents just right, and the high gloss bezel and dial makes it sparkle in most lighting conditions (and when there is no light, the lume is quite good…). It’s sort of in between the Abyss and The Beast in that it’s a super thick chrono – which wears just fine for those who may fear its dimensions – and in that it’s the superb quality of the C60 MK3s. I love it and this time it’s a keeper.

Do we call this the “MK1” as it’s the pre-Twin Flag version? We may as well 😉

Enough yapping, it’s time for pictures.

I've said it before but I'll say it again: if ever I was going to delve into the CW back catalogue rather than looking at new models, my top 3 (in this order) would be the Bumblebeast, original Bel Canto Azzuro, and C65 Chronograph. Great pickup!

You know, every time I see this I want one. I then worry about the thickness in spite of people saying I shouldn’t… Maybe it’s time I should just get one.

Lovely watch! I’ll bet you’re happy to have it back!

Do you think they’d ever do this model in a different colour combination? I bet some others would look great. Obviously the name would have to change haha. Maybe blue/orange, or some of the newer colours from other models?

I don’t think so as it was discontinued in Jan 2023. But yeah, I’d be a fan of that.
