Shame. If they can custom build cars, they ought to be able to custom build watches. Its not as if a different hand adds much complexity really. They can even custom build a burger.

Anyway, I started off not being too fussed about the BC, but things just grow on you gradually. I was instantly taken by the guilloche dial though, together with the more legible hands.

JAFO wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 4:16 pm I don't know if the blue hands on the Argento are a match for the blue dial of the Azzurro, but if they are, I wonder if a one off special Azzurro with those blue hands might be possible.

I don't see why they couldn't customise preorders with a variant beak and hands. I sent them an email actually. I think the Azzurro with blue hands and a white beak would suit me.
Before placing the order for my Bel Canto Cielo I had the same question and was told that it was not possible, it was simply what the design team decided.

"Hi,

I am afraid no custom changes can be made on any Bel Canto.

This is simply the way the watch was designed by our design team.

No changes can be made I am sorry to say.

Thanks

I wish you more luck than I had.
It would be great if you could customise it… Maybe they could call it the Bel Canto Custom to round off the series. “Our Bel Canto. Your Way”

You can customise. Get enough interest together and they’ll make a bespoke edition.

I should have added “without getting a group together and going down the bespoke route”

I was thinking something similar to what Bremont did with the MB customiser

The point is, though, that they have said they can’t/won’t do it, which sounds pretty final to me.

^^^ But that’s so unfair! They really should just do random customisation at no extra cost. After all it’s something that top brands do all the time.

I remember when I asked Rolex if they would order me a blue/black bezel GMT Master 2 with the red GMT hand used on the Pepsi version, rather than the blue hand that is standard specification. :)

Full disclosure for those who don’t get my sense of humour….
1) I don’t have a blue/black GMT Master 2
2) I didn’t ask Rolex to do a customised order
3) Rolex don’t accept customer orders for normal catalogue watches, let alone customised normal watches
4) It really doesn’t bother me that neither CW or any other brands I am interested in take customised orders

Strictly speaking you can get a custom Bel Canto. Simply start a watch review channel and achieve a minimum of probably a quarter of a million subscribers :D .

I’m hoping for a rose gold ultra-thin hand-wound tonneau with Roman numerals. Reckon CW will produce?

I'm having a tough time choosing a color for the watch. Each option has something unique, however I`m having hard time deciding:

1. Green: I love green, but this particular shade feels too "Christmasy"—it's very shiny and intense. I'm more drawn to subtle greens, like olive or even blue-green tones, but this green is just too much for my taste.

2. Blue: It’s nice but doesn't feel extraordinary. It’s a safe choice but lacks that "wow" factor. Funny enough the standard blue version was the standout in that collection but here its a very ordinary, safe choice

3. Silver with Blue Hands: I love the blue hands on the silver model; they’re very Cartier-inspired and stylish. My only worry is that the silver finish might look too bland, causing all the details to blend in and making only the blue hands stand out.

4. Gold: This is growing on me the most. Strangely, the standard gold felt a bit boring, but this version has a special charm. I wish it included the blue hands —yellow and blue always make a great combo. But I’m not entirely disappointed with the black hands either.

Overall, I’d love a green-dial watch to match my wardrobe, but this green isn’t quite right. It’s really hard to decide!

What’s your favorite color in this collection?

I see on the website the green and the silver still have estimated delivery date end of December while the gold and the blue it says end of January. I guess the gold and the blue versions must be the popular models of this collection.

Interesting follow up to the original. Initially, I was not sure that adding more visual detail to the backdrop would work. My suspicion was that it would be distracting, but looking at how it's been implemented, I think it looks really good. I'd love one in green, but I've spent my watch budget on something else this year, so it'll have to wait.

Loving that dial and, if anything, I prefer it over the original. On bracelet (with batons, though), I think it would look even better

for me in order of preference

Silver, Gold, Blue , Green.

All look great in the photos and all are appealing my concern is which one would actually wear vs have it be a ornament in my watch box. The silver seems to be the only one i could see myself wearing on a daily. Its boringly classic enough for me to pull it off.

I think if you were leaning green the gold might just be the best compromise.

I see your points and you're not afraid that the silver might make all the detail works on the dial blend in and not be that visible? I do agree that the silver version can be a nice daily watch and I like it too.

I am between Gold and Silver. If the gold had the blue hands my choice would've been so much easier! Too bad CW doesn't allow any form of customisation. I know there is the bespoke route to go but I assume its mainly if you want something completely different, here they could've let the costumers mix and match already existing futures like putting already existing blue hands on Gold watch etc etc

To me, it actually comes over somewhat negatively that CW immediately dismiss the idea of customisation. I would have thought it would increase sales and revenue, and be very easy to do. They could even say no refunds on customised watches.

It's hardly any different to changing the strap, really.
