I think this impressive especially when looking at the wide range of designs to come through over the years. Apart from the Bel Canto, nothing particularly ground breaking but such tasteful ways of taking established designs that a bit further.
This is a great point and one which I hadn’t consolidated in my mind until now. By no means have I been involved in new CW launches for that long, but I feel like they have really not put a foot wrong in the whole range currently available. Sure there are models I prefer over others, but for me it’s an extremely well rounded selection with no ‘howlers’, and I’m not sure I could say that about too many other brands.

The flip side is the need to continue to innovate, and innovation in design means risk and models which may divide opinion. I’m very excited to see what lies ahead, both on the evolutionary front and with more groundbreaking ideas. Right now there’s a great blend of both.

Guy IIRC MF indicated that there was an initial supply at launch ready end of November.

All sold already, or spin?

He also indicated they can produce 750 BCs a month and current wait list from order to delivery is approximately 6 weeks (subject to my comment above about having an initial supply of the classic).

Neil
May well be already sold out, Neil.

I'll eat my words, after your comments, as I've learnt that orders were being placed after the preview (@GrumpyFrog ) and I was looking at the website about half an hour after the Classic went live this morning.

Ergo, initial stock sold out and availability moved to pre-order.

I emailed them as soon as they showed the relevant slide during the preview, but had no response (reasonably enough). Instead I just ordered as normal as 8a when it was already showing eta of December and then followed up on my email with the order number

I suspect they've built some time I to the published eta, making room to service the pre-orders.

Although not sure I need two Bel Canto. The original Azzurro and one of these new ones.

However if I did…

It would be the Oro. :)

Neil
I agree about the Oro. Actually all of them look spectacular! Damn it, I want them all!

Not a fan of the new Classic version as the Roman numerals clash with the overall industrial look of the watch. The guilloche is nice though. I'm curious on how the guilloche Wave Edition will look with the original aesthetics.

Hmm, I like it, but it doesn't steal any enjoyment of my current BC.

I don't need the guilloche, and as much as I like the green, I probably prefer my colourway.

I think the groundbreaking stuff is coming behind the scenes in the manufacturing processes. They are pushing their manufacturers in a lot of different ways and as a result pushing the build process farther. Using novel machining practices, using different laser technologies to cut dials, materials etc. For example when Wil was explaining the process they used to coat the dials of the Classic without losing the sharpness of the Guilloché cut by laser.
There's a notable piece along these lines on p.21 of Loupe 35 Winter 24; out today.

Both the Roman numerals & the guilloché are excellent improvements in my view, with the Argento taking pole position for me (the blued hands are sublime on that dial). I am glad to see these are unlimited editions; I found the repeated forced scarcity very annoying.

It's a big improvement & better value in Classic imo but it looks a bit too messy overall.

Saying all that, I quite fancy one.

As I ordered a BC in July, with an expected delivery in January this rankles a bit. I have paid in full but delivery is now pushed to February, CW are taking the mick by releasing a new model with outstanding orders being bumped. Not great customer relations there MF given the current interest rate.

Open Series or Bespoke or AMW Limited?

Regardless of variant, they have my money and are releasing new models whilst bumping my delivery date which is what annoys me the most, it’s dishonest. If there was a genuine delay specific to my version I would think an explanatory email would be easy, obviously requires thought though. Customer service fails again, when will they, or I, learn!

I don't know if the blue hands on the Argento are a match for the blue dial of the Azzurro, but if they are, I wonder if a one off special Azzurro with those blue hands might be possible.

I don't see why they couldn't customise preorders with a variant beak and hands. I sent them an email actually. I think the Azzurro with blue hands and a white beak would suit me.

Before placing the order for my Bel Canto Cielo I had the same question and was told that it was not possible, it was simply what the design team decided.

"Hi,

I am afraid no custom changes can be made on any Bel Canto.

This is simply the way the watch was designed by our design team.

No changes can be made I am sorry to say.

Thanks
