Without that saving sentence he was setting himself up to be shot down in flaming pain. Painful flames. Something like that.

@scooter.
Stands to attention. "Sir, yes Sir!" Salutes. Makes a smart about face. Marches off.

Intention of following CO's orders? None, but don't let him know.
I was in no way trying to belittle our wonderful ladies :). but the simple fact is that the vast, vast majority of luxury wristwatches are bought by men. I have no empirical data, but based on my experiences of going to gatherings held by Rolex, Bremont, Panerai, Lange & Sohne, IWC, Salon QP and Baselworld, women make up a tiny percentage of the turnout. At Salon QP and Baselworld, the majority of the female watches were still in the cases, the male ones were being tried on.

Many of my friends are in the fortunate position to be able to spend large amounts of money on fripperies, and the men buy watches, the women buy jewellery. The ladies will have a very nice watch, but not large numbers of! The amounts of money spent by the two sexes on watches and jewellery are similar, but that money is spent on different things.

It works both ways, it would be the equivalent of me telling Boodles to have men's collections. They simply ain't gonna do it. In Boodles on Bond Street, the only nod to men is the Patek Watch section, and quite rightly so.

Why would they spend money making a large men's jewellery collection when their ROI will not be nearly as much as on the women's!

Same for Chris. Why would he spend x amount of money on developing a high quality womens collection when the ROI will be so much less?

Michael Korrs on the other hand churns out womens watches as accessories that are far more visually spectacular than they are high quality, and prices them at the mid point. - they flipping fly off the shelves.

Do I agree with it? Nope, but that is the financial world we live in.

I am delighted that there are companies out there that do cater to the women who do have a desire to have an interesting, varied and quality watch collection, but they will always be in the minority unfortunately.
