Lovely looking watch. Just a tad too large for me though. :(

As a side note, can anybody please attempt to explain CW's rationale behind placing their logo at 12 O'clock on these models yet continuing to spoil their entire range of dive watches by placing it at 9 O'clock? I thank you.

I think the 12 o'clock wording suits the 'retro' look better, but can't agree that the other watches are spoiled by the 9 o'clock positioning. Some people like it, some people dislike it, many are indifferent.

I think the 12 o'clock wording suits all looks better as do 99.9% of watch manufacturers. I don't see members of forums dedicated to other watch brands clamouring for it. My feeling is that many of those who 'like it' have in truth have just wearily accepted it, having no choice. The change was a massive cock-up. A cock-up that CW are too arrogant to admit to but I'm sure they realise it, hence the introduction of the twin flag logo and the 12 O'clock position on newer models. I think they are also going to make a similar mistake by doing away with 38mm dive watches (if the rumours are to be believed).

Since you brought it up, this is not the case at all with me. I love the positioning of the logo on my C65 Trident Vintage. And I did have a choice - I could choose not to buy.

Its the angle.

None of the Black Sand dials are spot on, but looking at it with the naked eye you'd be hard pushed to tell from any angle.

Just received mine this morning (from the sale) and wearing it for today... awesome looking watch

My text is also not centre aligned, but at 54, without my reading glasses I can barely see the text, let alone be bothered by it

Don't believe you. Had you the choice of the logo at 12 or 9, you would have gone for 12 every time. You're just kidding yourself.

Oh, and you made the choice to respond to 'this overly flogged topic'. You could have chosen not to. :-)

I don't mind the placement at 9 at all. I do like the modern font. I wouldn't have minded the Chr. Ward London logo, although to me it seems a bit Gothic and old fashioned, but but I wouldn't not buy just because of the font. I take everything together. Movement; numbers here and not there; bezel design; size and height especially; dial colour; materials; indices; lume; crystal; case design; case back design; date window, cyclops (no! for choice); lug width; lug to lug; strap/bracelet; swiss made; maintenance package. If it all works, the logo placement is just one part, and a relatively minor part. Yes, really. It will take many years, but I really could see the CW brand developing as a desirable prestige brand over time. I mean I love the look of the moonphase, and particularly the moonglow. although I can't see myself getting one.

I can't afford to buy everything I like, but I do try to like everything I buy. All of my CWs are the current house style.

Sorry, my last post was off topic rather.

I think that the name brand at 9 needs a lot of space. CW spread it over 2 lines. The SC has large index bars in all positions. If you wanted a logo at 9, you would probably need a small index at 9 instead. Note there is no date either, probably for a similar reason.

I think with the SC you could have an applied twin flags logo under the 12, and the Christopher Ward in a smaller font above the Super Compressor. (or under or above the logo). Personally I think reducing the font size of "Christopher Ward" to keep it one line might work. A bit like RAYMOND WEIL. RW squeeze it into a single line on a chronograph sub dial in small caps. I imagine CW spent a fair bit of money changing the last logo to the current one, and they won't want to keep having major changes though.

I'm sure they did too but I guarantee when the MK4s come out, the logo will be back at 12 O'clock.

Have to agree, the logo will go back to 12 o'clock. The latest releases point the way, there is only so much non-conformism any commercial entity can stomach. The smart move would be to do away with the name on the dial (unwieldy) and just use the twin flags, name on the case back.

I don’t know, the C60 mk3 seems to be selling very well. Some people don’t like the placement of the name, but thousands of people not on this forum are telling CW they like it with their wallets.

Personally, it was the mk3 C60 that brought me back to the brand after a long absence. Name/logo placement and all. I’ve got 3 different versions of it.

Probably just best to keep an open mind and realize different people have different tastes. We shall see what CW decides to do for the next generation :D
