Suggestion for 2024 forum limited edition
Hi! This is my first post.
Since the twelve was the watch of 2023, I propose that it be our forum limited edition of 2024. My two easy modifications, that would make it look really sharp!!:
Specs:
-Titanium 12, 36mm, 8.95mm tall, with exhibition caseback
-300-1 cosc movement
Plus:
-Take the c63 celest aventurine dial (its also for a 36mm case and should fit if i’m lucky), and put the usual twelve indices on it (i like loom, i want it to light up day or night). No date.
-New micro adjust titanium bracelet (if possible, we won’t need a lot of them to detract from the x supply).
-comes with a black rubber band.
If you also like this idea, please say so, perhaps we can get enough attention to make it happen!!

Re: Suggestion for 2024 forum limited edition
Hello and welcome.
I will be very surprised if there is a FLE for 2024. If you look at the FLE pages, you’ll see that there was a six year gap between the 2017 FLE and the 2023 FLE. Which for some people was the 2024 FLE.
Given design and lead times, getting a watch out of he door by the end of the year would be very difficult. Having said that, I’m sure that the form will have fun discussing your design plans.

Trying not to buy any more watches...

I didn't get involved in the 2023 FLE as the design wasn't attractive to me but I doubt that the FLE team would want to be involved in designing and organising another FLE so soon.
I think CW have probably got their hands full anyway with their own releases.

Re: Suggestion for 2024 forum limited edition
I personally like this idea but I don’t think it’d be a successful FLE for a couple reasons:
1) Cost is a factor, and getting 50ish people on this forum to all part with their money at the same time for the same watch is a big ask. Making that watch $2000+ would leave quite a few people out who just don’t have that money at the moment (or at all).
2) Again I’d personally go for the 36mm case, but I think it likely that 40mm would have a broader appeal and better chance for success. I can hear the hoards saying “36mm is too small for me, I’m out”.
The 12X has a different bracelet than the 36mm 12 Ti, so no worries about taking stock from the 12X, you’d just have to wait until the correct bracelet is available.
I’d like to be proven wrong though as this watch sounds great!

Re: Suggestion for 2024 forum limited edition
@Treasurehunter I would suggest that you discuss this as a personal bespoke project with CW, specifically Peter France (peter.france@christopherward.co.uk). He will be able to guide you as to what is viable. For example, an aventurine dial in a C12 may not even be possible - or at least not for a run of less than 300, say.
Once you've come up with something which you like and is viable, then you can promote this across all the social media outlets to see if you can gain sufficient interest. This is what many other people do. It doesn't need to be an FLE. Indeed, trying to make it an FLE will probably just put additional obstacles in your way.

^^^^ Offering it to a wider audience would also make #1 from @ajax87 less relevant.

While I like the notion of a 12FLE generally, I’m personally feeling too tapped out for more acquisitions. I also feel the CW pipeline is full of planned releases and a number of bespoke models for the near term. I suppose you could target the next FLE for 2025… and given what’s already on deck (CW often have an end of summer release as well as late October) you may find ’25 is the next available window.

Mike France has alluded two a couple of forthcoming releases in recent interviews/podcasts/streams. August/end of Summer and later in the year too.

Addendum: I don’t think you should feel you need to wait to ‘25 to begin the planning and design. It does take some time to navigate the process, after all.

Its interesting how our preferences change over time...I don't think I'd be interested in the above anymore.

People's situations, requirements and tastes can change quickly.
IMO the more design changes that a FLE requires to a standard CW model will cause time delays, increase costs and the potential to miss out on people's support.
CW seem to have lots of new releases in mind but if you still want to suggest further FLE possibilities maybe consider minimal changes (change of bezel colour, dial texture or colour) to a standard model that you really like but haven't yet bought or follow advice that other Forum members have already given on here.
