Perhaps CW should take note of this.

We are always happy to praise CW's Customer Service, but it may be that things could be tightened up.

CWL has been made aware of both topics.

I ordered on the first day of the sale, clearly a very busy time. No confirmation email arrived, but a despatch email did a couple of days later and my delivery would have arrived next day (via the excellent DPD) but took another day due to New Year's Day getting in the way.

So for me if was a seamless experience so they can, and do get it right.

Clearly this shouldn't let them off the hook when it doesn't work and I would hope they take threads such as these extremely seriously.

You can't have premium product for discount prices and expect to have regular service. Practicly all of us bought something with serius discount. In my case 128 Pounds discount. For that kind of money couple of days is worth the wait. We all know when is holiday season - if someone is planing to buy someone a gift I suggest they order it in November. I placed my order on 27.12., sometime before midnight and received my watch in Croatia on 9.1. All thing considered that standard service.

I returned a broken watch for refund and it's been "awaiting payment of charges" status with Parcel Force since the 7th. They must really be busy at CWL.

Love to know where you get that rate of interest. :?
So would I. I'm talking about a premium delivery charge of £7.95, which with most other e-tailers, would be for next day delivery. As it is, I've paid that for a two week (minimum) wait for an 'in-stock' product, while my money accrues interest for someone else.

I have asked, was it in the sale?

They can take a while before for you get notice of order processing. My watches all took a little bit. Hope it all works out.

The watch I ordered, despite being 'in stock' when I ordered, is now out of stock and more are being sent from Switzerland, but won't arrive until the middle of next week. Won't be dispatched until next Thursday at the earliest, meaning at best it would be two weeks between ordering and receiving a product that was in stock at the point of order. As I paid by PayPal, the money left my account at the time of ordering. So my money gone to accrue interest elsewhere for 2 weeks; a privilege that has cost me just shy of £8.00. Really poor.
So this piece you ordered was in the sale. The only sale mens watches were in the Nearly New section and the company claims that Nearly New watches are simply press and reviewer returns. What was your watch doing in Switzerland? And why such mayhem just sending out the returns?
Just fun questions!

Those of you moaning need to go and find something positive in your life into which to direct your energies.

Maybe if watch purchases aren't giving you pleasure you should just donate the money to a charity instead.

We all know what a feeding frenzy the NN sale is, and how on earth do you expect a small company to cope with the extra work this event generates?

Good grief. Another apologist. And patronising at the same time.

How do you think "big" companies cope with demand peaks? The answer is obvious... they increase resources to cope with additional activity levels, and I cannot see why CW should not also do this.

Like it or not, CW is not this cuddly little family business you want it to be. It is a professional sales company, competing with the big online merchants. That is how they are (and should be) judged.
