On the C60GMT, as there is no 24hr chapter ring on the dial, the GMT hand is always read by reference to the bezel. You can therefore read two timezones simultaneously - local time with the hour hand and the dial, and GMT time with the GMT hand and the bezel. The third timezone is because you can rotate the bezel to something other than GMT, but doing so loses the ability to read the GMT time so you are always limited to two timezones maximum.

This was what I was told by a CW technician and a customer service rep.

Of course, it's not difficult to 'learn' to read the gmt time by reference to the dial in the same way we've learnt how to read a standard hour hand.

I always take my Explorer II when I travel now. I love the way you can change the hours without stopping the watch, and the GMT hand is, well, really handy. :)

Tell the time on a phone? That's like going back to a pocket watch!

Or a smartphone!

The GMT concept was revolutionary at the time, and solved a problem that existed at the time, but the world has moved on and it is now just a gimmick that very few have a use or a need for...
Some of us also work in buildings where you can not bring in any phones or electronic devices, so having a watch is really a necessity.

I use my GMT daily, as I am -6gmt, but alot of my computer logs are set from Microsoft to display the datestamp for entries in GMT. It is nice to just look down and be able to see where I am in GMT and fine the correct entry in the log without having to do math, plus it is great to use when visiting another time zone without having to reset my watch

I don't have a need for the GMT function; it's just a bit of silly fun. I don't think we always appreciate silliness in our lives. I just like to know if I can chat online with a couple friends who live in different time zones! :D

So what I've done is have the normal hands on +2h; the GMT hand at +7; and rotated the bezel so I can read the GMT always with the GMT hand and bezel. Works for me.
