Thanks to you, scooter, and everyone else for kind words. It has been a real tough year, but in all honesty, her family are really amazing in their strength, so that makes things easier.scooter wrote:It's all been said.

Thanks also on the comments on the post and the shot of the Cunningham. It's good to know that my iPhone is capable of pulling a decent photo out of its rear every now and then. Looking forward to finding the next addition to the collection? Someone's 2009 FLE perhaps?

Thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. My sincere wish is that in the years to come, the C6 serves as a reminder of good memories.
On an unrelated note, I couldn't help but notice the National Counter Terrorism Centre background. Do you have a connection to the centre? I have done CBRNE training through my work, and some of the instructors are from the Canadian Counter Terrorism Technology Centre.

Great post, Peteo. I was glad to see your Magrette. I've been thinking about taking the plunge on the bronze watch.

Thanks for sharing the full story Peteo, not least that the C70 picture is from your iPhone - which rather puts the "sorry about the crappy phone pics" comments into perspective - you have proved that it can be done.

Re: SotC: Year One as a "Watch Guy"
I work for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Emergency Management. We have a lot of environmental monitoring responsibilities under different U.S. response authorities. We deal with a lot of CBRNE scenario planning where we monitor air and water quality, assist with waste disposal, etc. So we're pretty plugged in to Counter Terrorism efforts from the federal perspective. In day-to-day reality though, my office spends most of its time thinking about accidental oil and chemical releases rather than malicious ones.Lavaine wrote:Thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. Re: SotC: Year One as a "Watch Guy"
Of course it's all a matter of taste, but I'm a real fan of mine, so I suspect that there's at least a decent chance that you might be too. Plus, it's such a change up from the rest of my collection, so that makes it that much more special.nahminator wrote:Great post, Peteo. I was glad to see your Magrette. Re: SotC: Year One as a "Watch Guy"
Thanks, Loddonite. I think in this case, I had a pretty significant assist from some pretty good natural lighting. Most of my iPhone pics don't come out quite so nicely.Loddonite wrote:Thanks for sharing the full story Peteo, not least that the C70 picture is from your iPhone - which rather puts the "sorry about the crappy phone pics" comments into perspective - you have proved that it can be done.

Re: SotC: Year One as a "Watch Guy"
I'm coming to this thread very late so for me to simply reiterate the sense of condolence expressed by others may seem a little trite, but sincerely, I am sorry for what is an awful tragedy. I'm sure that yellow kingfisher will stay with you always.
