Thanks Rick. Probably, I will go for another Bremont - the Solo with a white dial. That plan could be interrupted by the establishment of a new AD near my home. They stock Sinn, Fortis, Glycine, Nomos Glashutte, Hamilton, BALL, MeisterSinger and Grand Seiko, so there is plenty of potential for diverting my funds... :)

Yes I'm going to use this thread as leverage to show that watch collecting is normal too.
I keep looking at Bremonts cos of the popularity in here. Lovely collection here.

That is indeed a stunning collection, Richard. Thank you for sharing. A 1960s 18ct JLC or Girard would look good in there! :D :D

Thanks. Maybe one day. (But don't hold your breath) :)

I doubt I will sell the Seiko watches. The SKX009 will be a classic one day... and they are all beaters that get worn reasonably frequently.

And, I agree, more people need to do SOTC's.

First off, great collection, downer. As always. Getting that down to 12 is going to be difficult, especially after the White Solo comes in. Looks like a lot of CWs probably won't make the cut. I know which ones I'd keep.

Regarding the Seikos, I'm pretty much in the same boat with mine although I'm not really sure that mine will attain classic status. I don't really see much of a market for flipping it. Mine gets worn about once every 2 weeks or so, and usually it doesn't stay on the wrist the whole day. Might just have to suffice as my beater and be happy when it gets to see the light of day!

And lastly, totally agree that we need more SOTC posts. I'm waiting on my C2 Lido to make the trip back from Maidenhead (should be any day now) before I bore you all with an updated SOTC. I'll have a full watch box by then!

An inevitable comparison, given they are both blue, both divers, and share very similar hands and marker design. The Bremont is listed at 43mm, whereas the C60 is 42mm. To me, the Bremont looks smaller in the dial... The big difference is the weight.. The Bremont is 211g, the C60 is 176g, and the SM500 is much taller.
For what it's worth, there are 3 things that I genuinely do prefer on the CW.
- The color on the CW is more vibrant looking and more to my taste.
- The shapes of the hour and minute hands are better done.
- The second hand is also more interesting thanks to the red tip and the trident back.

Otherwise, it's the Bremont for me (and it ought to be for the price difference)!

Thanks Peteo. I've given quite a lot of thought to what I should sell and what I should keep. I even had an idea to offer all 3 fle's as a job lot, along with their matching serial numbers, but I might regret that one day....

Other than that, I think the cream C8/C5A will be too similar to the white Solo and the black C8 is along the same lines as the MBII, so they will have to go one of these days..

Sort of sad that both C8s are struggling to make the cut. If someone asked me to show them 3 CWL watches to help them get a sense of the brand, I'd definitely include one of these as part of the showcase. I've only been in the watch game for a little while, but I feel like the C8s are models where CWL has been able to set themselves apart from everyone else, particularly for an aviator watch, which seems to be a style that doesn't see the greatest amount of variation to begin with.

This is by no means an attempt to persuade you, as you can certainly do what you like with your own collection. Just thoughts that popped into my head. :)

I'd be interested to hear how the CW aviators stack up against the Bremonts. Do they feel like the poor relation, or is it more flattering than that?
