Some news from our CEO Mike France about Bel Canto
Some news from our CEO Mike France about Bel Canto
Mike’s email sent this morning to all interested parties.
C1 Bel Canto
Thank you for registering your interest in the
C1 Bel Canto. To be honest, we were overwhelmed with the response at the launch of both the blue and green limited editions which sold out in just a few hours. Sadly, this has meant that many people, such
as yourself, have missed out. That so many industry commentators have already named the Bel Canto as the watch of 2022 has also done nothing to subdue demand! Given our mission from day one at CW has been to put high-quality watches within the reach of as many people as possible, we've been trying to work out how it might be possible to fulfil your wish of owning a Bel Canto in 2023. The great news is, after much work by both our team in Switzerland and our manufacturing partners, we think we've found a way to make this possible. In the coming weeks, I hope to be in touch with you again with specifics about the colour options available - together with the likely timings for delivery in the second half of 2023. Because of the lengthy pre-order period, we wouldn't expect full payment up front, but would need a deposit of approximately a third of the selling price to secure your piece. It would be helpful if you could confirm your interest in becoming the proud owner of a Bel Canto in 2023 by clicking on the button below. I'll be in touch just as soon as we have the finer details.
With thanks and best wishes,
Mike France

That’s probably unwelcome news if you just paid a scalper $5k for one.

The mailing list needs tidying up!
I have received the email - I already have a blue Bel Canto on order, for delivery early December. I paid and selected the serial number and approximate delivery date, before the watch was on the CW website.
Perhaps I should buy an additional one in another colour...

When I popped into CW last Monday I was told that they had 2500 plus people on a waiting list with an average of 10 further enquiries each day.nbg wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 1:37 pm The mailing list needs tidying up!![]()

^^^ All good news for CW.
Many of these will end up in the collections of folk with high end collections, because they will recognise the merits of the watch.

So does that mean that CW is planning a non 'limited' edition production run?

Seems like that way. Took them over 2 weeks to confirm my orders.
I would guess limited edtions by production for different colours.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:09 pm So does that mean that CW is planning a non 'limited' edition production run?

It certainly does - I received the email despite not expressing interest nor even looking at the watch on the CW website????

Re: Some news from our CEO Mike France about Bel Canto
I ordered one and STILL got the solicitation. I have to be honest, this (possibly now) mass production rustles me. The uniqueness and exclusivity of this watch are much of what attracted me. After all, it is a collectible more than an everyday watch. Now it portends to be less limited than the "Tiffany" dial or many other limited CWs, especially if 2500 are made. (One poster above says that's the backlog list). On top of 600? I hope they somehow make clear that the "mass production" runs (if they materialize) are somehow different. If demand rules the order at CW, then I want a Ukraine watch and a Tiffany dial.

Well that’s a poke in the eye with a sh1tty stick to all those who thought they were getting something limited.

Sorry to have to agree with the above post, but exclusivity is always a factor in these kinds of offerings. It is after all, only human to want what we can’t have. If they are going to have a bigger run they should at least keep the blue and green as limited productions. That is after all what the original purchasers were told/promised.

Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…
