Re: So World Timer, Typhoon or C800?
I don't like the Typhoon - all the little thematic details strike me as just a bit gimmicky - but the Worldtimer and the C5 I am intrigued by.
I am hoping the C5 is slated to have a Mk2 Aviator type dial - if so it will be a definite purchase. Will have to see photos and working details of the Worldtimer before commiting I think...

Among the 3, WT is my obvious favorite. If the live pics look good, I will get one. The little-dot display on the world map does the trick for me. I just hope its the right blue, if its laureus blue that'd be perfect.
Not a big fan of either the typhoon or c800, but really like the direction CW's taking. The showcase pieces tell me the ambition of this brand, 10 year young and already making noises of its own. I don't know any independent watchmaker which has a jumphour, single pusher chrono, regulator and whatever we call that little-dot thing on the WT in the lineup, and still being affordable (relatively speaking) and more importantly, accessible.
I don't worry too much about the Typhoon or C800 being a Topgun or a Portugese regulateur homage, I remember Mr. Ward has openly shown his admiration to IWC and the C5 exemplifies that clearly. I love IWCs too so clearly I am biased towards the resemblance. If CW continuous to refine the qualities in their timepieces and eventually recognized as the little brother to IWC like Tudor to Rolex, it's still a remarkable achievement.

hey all...new to the forum though some of you may know me from WUS. Brad J posted up the transcript of the chat with Chris in order to Stymie my attempts at finishing off (for now) my collection with a Stowa Flieger. He'd have to have known my love for the IWC Top gun...anyway yea Typhoon looks great though I could do without the gimicky nature of the second hand...maybe just keep the tip...anyway Regulateur looks pretty good too...
1500 is a bit steep though so here's hoping they come up with a similarlt styled quartz alternative

Am I reading this correctly...the only difference between the Typhoon models is the roundel colouring at ? If so, the all black version would be my choice.

Just re-read the transcript and the case is referred to as 'Black Ceramic' - no mention of different models. The case looks the same in the pictures as well. Titanium is for the twiddly bits; crown, chrono pushers.Lego wrote:Am I reading this correctly...the only difference between the Typhoon models is the roundel colouring at ? I'm therefore wondering whether the Typhoon will be available in two models, both with black ceramic case, one with RAF Roundel the other with plain black on the lower sub-dial OR whether there is only one model, with the RAF Roundel, and the other picture is for design purposes only.
No doubt ww'll get clarification from CWL at some stage.

Hope there is both as I really want one but wouldn't get it if it was with the roundel only.
I would like it plain.
