Nothing wrong with fixie bikes, one of mine is a fixie and I'm a overweight 64 year old without a beard, just grey stubble. These silly generalisations are rubbish!
I agree there is nothing wrong with fixed gear bikes.
What have they got to do with a watch though?
Often I wear a Christopher Ward while riding my fixie, that enough? What has anything to do with anything in advertising? You don't have to take it as gospel.

Anybody would think CW was the only company to use hyperbole advertising marketing speak. What do you expect CW to tweet or put on facebook? How about "we make quite reasonable watches - you can buy one if you like". Not much imagination or aspiration there.

I dislike any cheesy sales speak regardless of company.

If you think that sales speak is aspirational then we have very different views

Modernism and Minimalism were fifty years apart and coming from quite different directions. I don't think either would have held up that watch as an exemplar. I know I'm taking the copy too literally to make a point, but I'm sure all of us on here could write better wordiness.

even if you may take offense at the "fixed gear" bike reference being "hipster," if you don't see the attempt at pointing toward hipster crowd in that tweet, you're fooling yourself (imnsvho).

just because hipsters like things don't mean they're bad things. but there's hipster reference in that tweet in its entirety.
the "g" is for Greg...

Omega should try this approach on social media.

Like wearing a dinner jacket, shooting people and casual sex?
Then you'll love the Seamaster 300.

Hahahaha.

Rolex = would only need a one liner. Want to show everyone you've got some money, then buy a Rolex.

its not a dig just the kind of vibe it gives some people.

Up until now I couldn't work out quite why I liked the Seamaster 300 so much. The penny has finally dropped!

I think the font used in new logo is a bit sterile, much like the words "Automatic" or "Swiss Made" that appear on so many watches. Not adding or detracting from the overall watch, so it is neutral overall IMO. I can only speculate but I think CW designer was following the trend led by smartphone screens where their small screens have caused companies to simplify their logos and fonts to maximize read-ably. And to get around potential brand confusion of using CHR.Ward vs the full name.

I think it would have been interesting if they had just simplified to use "Ward", giving more flexibility on where/how it could be placed on complicated dials. They could then use it as an abbreviation or backronym... :)

People are freaking out over the font from 'it looks like writing on a school jumper ' to even worse - it's not that bad
