So if you had to choose only two CW watches....
Hello all:
I just received an "Orca black" Aquitane GMT from Christopher Ward yesterday. What a stunning watch this is - this one exceeds expectations at every level! It is true you need to actually handle one to fully appreciate it. If I had to have just one good watch (beater watches for rough work do not count) this would be the one. Fortunately I have others in my collection, and don't have to make this choice.
But this got me to thinking - if I had to limit myself to just TWO CW watches, which ones would they be? From my own collection, these would be the aforementioned black Aquitane GMT, and my white-dial Trident C60 300 pro. With bracelets for both, an extra red/black CW nylon/rubber strap for the Aquitane, and an extra black CW "vintage Oak" leather strap for the Trident, I would have all the combinations I need for watersports, dress or daily wear. Of course the bracelets and straps are fully interchangeable, because of the much-appreciated quick-detach feature.
Which ones would you choose, dear forum members?

Hi Clandeboye
Great question and got me thinking that's for sure.
For me the first of two is easy, it's my c9 bdd. The second is a little harder but I think it would probably have to be a c60 GMT diver in contrast and complimentary to the bdd.

Not including the two bespoke CW watches I have organised it would be my C7 Apex and my C1 Azzurro Bel Canto I would keep.

Fun. For me, it’d be C63 Sealander. It’s just so great as an all rounder and a value proposition. For the second one, I think I’d go with one that I never wore but always wanted, the C5 Battle of Britain Aviator. Not sure what it is about that one, but it’s always spoken to me.

Wonderful - keep those suggestions coming! Having had a chance to play with straps on my new black Aquitane GMT and the white Trident Pro 300, I think I like the black vintage oak leather better on the Aquitane, where it picks up the rich, vintage look, and the red/orange nylon hybrid on the Trident, where it looks more playful and sporty. Originally I had them the other way round. Mind you they both look great on their bracelets....

Since people are posting photos (great pics, folks!), how do I upload a .jpeg of my own chosen pair?

As for me, I’ve been thinking all day and narrowed it down to my 4 favorite CWs. I guess at this point in time I’d have to say these two:

I love the fact that as CW have grown they have established their ‘main lines’ but have always explored their ‘outliers’ too. My two I consider outliers. Perhaps that’s why I love them so much

Close call, but the C12 might just have beaten this into third place. We shall see.
Isn’t it good that these decisions are purely hypothetical and we don’t have to make them in real life?

Really interested by your post, Guy. The first watch is completely understandable, but I was a little surprised by your second choice, although it's a watch I like the look of very much, probably even more so on the oak leather. So many CW's have passed through your hands, I didn't expect to see a bronze watch feature in your choice, as well as a watch that is smaller than your preferred size range. Again, I really like the Sandhurst and I love the way it is patinating.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 12:30 am Simples.![]()

Re: So if you had to choose only two CW watches....
It's a tough question to answer, so many great CW's that I've owned and many more that I haven't.
I think I have to say the C63 Lucerne 39mm as one of them as I own one right now and really enjoying it. Even got major compliments from the staff in a Rolex AD I visited a few months ago (not the same AD that I bought my Explorer from, whose Rolex manager said he liked a lot of what CW were doing and was impressed with the Sunrise I was wearing).
The second one I don't really know, possible a BC if I ever got my hands on one just for it's uniqueness. Then again the C7 Apex, maybe one of the C11's I've owned, if only I had a bigger wrist to carry them off. I don't think I can pick a second without further consideration!
