I have an FLE and am pleased.
Indeed it has a similar 'presence' to my IWC Portofino, which was somewhat dearer (about eight times)...

That's an excellent analogy and a very impressive statement! I've always admired the Portofino and IWC watches in general. The FLE is obviously in very good company when being mentioned with IWC. I'd love to see CW make an FLE with a black dial as well. IWC makes a black dial Portofino which is fabulous looking.

Looks best on black or blue. I bought on black but already had a suitable blue.

I got the blue strap with it, and bought a brown one in the sale. It looks more dressy on the brown, more casual on the blue.

I went with brown because of the rose gold hands and indices. I tend to prefer brown straps with gold, though black would look very formal and smart and blue would give it a more casual air.

Thanks Steve, you can't go wrong with the brown or black. I think a black dial design would look fantastic in an FLE model. IWC's Portofino has a black dial option which is stunning. Any thoughts on the FLE black dial idea? What about a sub second hand as well?

It might be an idea to read this thread on future FLEs...

Exactly my reasoning as well. I went for the alligator to give the best strap experience.

What is the case and lug size on this watch? I really like the look of this watch., but have quite large wrists and smaller dress watches just don't look right.

Imagine a world without watches..... my worst nightmare!

The dimensions are the same as the standard C5 Slimline, 40mm case - 20mm lug width. The specs and differences between the standard C5 Slimline can be seen here The watch can be ordered through CWL here.

all this talk about the fle and I have surprised myself by just rashly ordering one!!
Went for the blue strap with bader upgrade. This will be my new no4 taking the place of the outgoing Planet Ocean. Just slightly different watches!
Hope I like it :D
Cheers now, Paul
