Show us your early CWs!
Most new members are attracted to the forum by current CW offerings, such as the Bel Canto, the Twelve, Sealander, Aquitaine, and of course the ever-popular Tridents.
There is, of course, something of a history now, going back to 2005.
And did you know (apologies to those who do) it’s all documented in the CW Forum Archive?
You can search for collections, ranges within the collections, and specific models/variants in each range. All the info on sizes, movements, lugs and much more is clearly laid out.
If you find a range and click on the “More Information” button…
…you will find that a more detailed description pops up:
The photos of this model (gold case, “white” - actually champagne” - dial, black alligator strap = GWKR code) are my own.

If you own any of the earlier watches between, say, 2005 and (arbitrary but not limited to) 2012, please share some pics and, if you can, a link to the Archive.

Re: Show us your early CWs!
Here's my C8-SKK Mk1 and purchased in Dec 2009. I have the black and brown quick release straps with the rivets which are discontinued now as well I think. This was my entry into automatic Pilots-style watches as I couldn't (and still can't) afford the IWC equivalent.
EDIT: photo of caseback added with brown qr strap with rivets

Re: Show us your early CWs!
@Amor Vincit Omnia on this sunny Sunday morning I was pondering asking a question which is a different question to yours but might nevertheless yield similar results. As one of your aforementioned newcomers, for me so far the more notable watches of CW have been the Bel Canto and Lumière. So my question was going to be, for those who have been involved with the brand for much longer, what are the ‘defining’ watches of CW’s 20 year history?
Maybe this has been covered before and/or might warrant a different thread instead…
Best,
TB

Re: Show us your early CWs!
I just missed out on the first CW logo. My first purchase was the C7 (quartz I know but beautiful back and front) and shortly after, the C60 arrived. Definitely early, C60 GMT more generally may have been a defining model - never out of production in one form or another.

Whilst the C20 Lido was officially retired in 2012 it was the first CW that I purchased - direct from CW in November 2013.

Still my favourite CW watch, though it hasn't been a One Watch for a long time. My first mechanical watch that started the whole journey.
The other two CW watches over the years that I love and rate highest are the Sandstorm and the Black Sand Supercompressor. CW do the standards so well now, and are doing the 'halo' stuff with style. But so long as there are occasional 'slightly-left-of-centre' watches like my top three then I'll be a happy watchie. I actually think that this is what CW have always done best - even if it's not the ranges that keep the sales rolling in

Re: Show us your early CWs!
I just happen to be wearing my C700 Grand Rapide today; link to the CWArchive
Available from 2011/08 to 2014/06 mine is an earlier one with the V_1 CW logo with later models crossing over in to the V_2 Chr.Ward version.
The second C700 I've owned, bought a little over two years ago, my initial one was in my collection for less than a year from June '16 to April '17.
One thing I rue is not having a bracelet for it as being a hefty watch it tends to float around a bit on my wrist when on a strap.
A couple of pics taken this morning;-

Re: Show us your early CWs!
What a great idea for a thread.
I’m with Welshlad on Kingfishers. My first CW was a PVD back C4. My second was a C6 Kingfisher in blue. Both have been sold and replaced with their automatic equivalents.

Do you need to still own them or will pics of ones you’ve owned in the past be ok?

Please post them. It’s about showing newer members what used to be in the catalogue and how to find info in the Archive.
