More likely on track for a similar time to that taken by Guy. I took long enough working out how many watches I had of each type, I suspect it was more of a problem for Guy.

I kind of skipped this question, Neil, as I didn't have my 'watch ownership log' to hand and besides, even if I had, it would have taken too long to work out the answer.

I simply put zero for all the brands mentioned and an approximate total of xx in the final box for 'others'. :D :D

I also got an email invitation to win 750 USD, however when I went to fill in and got passed the few first questions like age, sex etc I got to the where`re you from question and it only had all the US states with the last option being non of the above. So when I clicked on that since I`m not from US I just got a short message saying for the moment I`m not the audiance they wanna hear from and the survey ended... hmm so guess no chance of winning that 750 dollar gift card.
Is there a European survey perhaps ?

I did it over the breakfast coffee on this wet & windy morning.

It was a bit repetitive and I, too, found some of the brand choices a little odd. Some of my answers will probably be at odds with one another. However, it seems as though I do like things that are different from what everyone else has, with the proviso that they’re not particularly wacky.

And the opinions of influencers were certainly bottom of my list of factors. Well now, there’s a surprise.

If, as promised by the met office, the day continues wet and windy there might be a suitable opportunity to have a go at this survey but you've all made it sound so taxing.....

@tikkathree Actually, I did it reasonably quickly. Two of the five brands used for comparison were MB&F and Studio Underdog. I have little knowledge or experience of, or interest in, either.

That interesting. I had CW, Formex, MB&F, Swatch and Tudor, No Studio Underdog. I wonder if they are randomly assigned to everyone who takes the survey.

Questions about how easy their websites are to use were tricky to answer as I’ve not been on them other than CW.

@iain Possibly the algorithm takes into account your answers to earlier questions.

I got CW, Grand Seiko, MB&F, Orient and SU.

I got CW, Formex, Nomos, MB&F, Casio.
Wouldn't you need to have an awfully big sample size to get any meaningful data back if you're asking every person about a different subset of watches?

(I'm interested in the form the survey took but I'm not a statistician )

I had Baltic on mine. I feel thoroughly psychologically profiled after completing the survey

I think I was asked about a lot more than a sample of 5 brands.

There was a question towards the end with a large grid of about 20+ brands listed and about 10 categories for each. I initially just answered re CW, pressed continue and it wouldn’t let me proceed, until I had ticked something for each of the other brands. At that point I just ticked the right hand category for each of the other brands. :)

Oh and if as a result of the survey CW stop free shipping you can blame me! I put it as least important every time it popped up in the group of 18 questions where you had to choose between most and least important stuff in a group of 5.

I think one of the last questions was a bit ageist… :)

If you had packed in work, but are not yet old enough to receive the state pension, they wanted to know what your occupation level was when you worked. But if you were drawing your state pension you were just a pensioner!

It sounds like there were 2 surveys sent out, one for US customers that said win $750, and one for UK customers for a £500 prize?

I received my survey invite a week ago, I completed it last weekend in about 45 minutes. Maybe they’ll do a EU version next week?

Seems so, not sure why I got the US survey though

Not sure there'll be an EU version as it seems like they are heavily invested in the US market together with the home market.

I never do these surveys.

Even if I can past the personal information they want*, I realize it is simply not worth my time. If you want my time, then pay me for it but do not offer a "chance to win a gift card to your brand". The insight they receive is far more valuable than the pittance they offer to ultimately just 1 person.

* You can randomize all you want but once the marketing company that is doing the survey gets hacked, your personal information is released.

I did the survey too. Not sure what use my answers will be. They didn't ask if I was a grumpy old fart with weird standards and a bad attitude. I was very consistent when it came to saying influencers were unimportant though. Old and old school.

I had Baltic, Breitling, CW, MB&F and Sekonda. Who in the US knows who Sekonda is... Well I do but I'm an ex-Brit and so don't count even though I live in the US and so could do the survey (except AVO and Guy).
