Shades of Blue
Having acquired a couple of new CW's in the past week, I thought it would be interesting to compare 4 quite different shades of blue that CW have produced over the years:
2012 C60 Trident Forum Limited Edition "Scooter" blue, 1 of 50 - the one off use of this lovely shade of blue. I bought this not long after I joined the forum over 6 years ago from another member after posting a WTB. My longest owned CW and 2nd longest owned watch of any brand (that's what being on this forum and flipperitis does to you!).
2019 C65 Dartmouth mk1 - a fairly flat blue, nevertheless appealing. Bought this new from CW and has been one of my most worn, go to watches in the past 3 years.
2022 C60 Atoll Special Edition 1 of 350 - features an azure blue lacquered dial, graduated, absolutely stunning. I dilly dallied too long and missed these when they were sold (out) in the summer, fortunately for me, one of our long time members said he was thinking about selling a few watches, after an exchange of PM's we agreed a deal. Loving it so far on day 1 of ownership, what a fantastic dial and very well proportioned watch.
2022 C63 Sealander 36mm Lucerne Blue Limited Edition 1 of 200 - a gorgeous turquoise blue, designed to mimick the waters of Lake Lucerne. I knew this watch was going to sell out quickly due to the popularity of this colour (the whole Tiffany thing) and so decided, possibly driven by some element of FOMO, that I should buy one to try out and worst case I could return or sell down the line. I wasn't sure if 36mm would be a little too small for my taste. Despite only having a 17cm wrist, I do generally prefer watches to be a little larger. So far I do think the watch is as small as I'd go however it is a beautiful thing and I am enjoying wearing it. It's good to have a variety in your collection (aside of this I have a number of 39 and 40mm watches as well as 41,42 and even 44mm (Panerai) so quite a range!
I do like a blue watch, and aside of my Tudor BB 58, these are the only blue dialled ones in my collection, so here is my mini CW Blue SOTC:

Re: Shades of Blue
The 'Scooter' blue is the stand out piece for me, always loved that shade. I'm a fan of the watch, too. As an aside...what an interesting watch box; never seen one of those before.

^^^^^ I agree the Scooter Blue is the standout shade against a steel case.

Re: Shades of Blue
Right to left in order of preference for me (watches and shade of blue), but it goes to show how versatile a colour it is as they're all cracking watches.

Re: Shades of Blue
One of my always-held dogmatisms was that I don’t like blue watches because they’re boring. Well this knocks that one right out the water doesn’t it? I think it’s just navy blue I don’t get on with. All four of these are great. Thanks for posting this

An excellent selection Of CW blues Patrick.
It’s certainly a colour that CW like to vary.

This is either the same or very similar item, not very expensive but was needed as an overflow when my 2 x 6 watch boxes got full It looks pretty decent for the money.

Re: Shades of Blue
Thanks for that Patrick, it's a very good price and a useful item. But for now my watch box isn't under stress, it's only at 50% occupancy.

Love the blue dials. I have a new-to-me C65 incoming with a blue dial - I think I'll have to display my blue dials once it arrives

Re: Shades of Blue
I love a blue dial and some great examples above - one not mentioned and possibly my favourite is the Tri-Tech Diver Elite - the ‘sunburst’ design is stunning when the light catches it……
