$995 for a brightly colored cartoon game watch is a hard no. If I was inclined to spend money on something this gaudy I would be looking at Swatch for much less. For $140 you can pull out a neon Swatch watch once a year to wear while taking your kids to Disneyland and then lock it away for the rest of the year.

Sadly they sold out almost instantly (and weren't available for overseas orders

As for this one - agree that it's too much for a fun watch (though the Oris Kermit is nearly 4x the cost!). I actually quite like it (also of the generation that sat on the bus to school playing snake) but not enough to spend £1k on it.

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
I was born in the Year of the Snake, so this could have been relevant to me, but it isn’t. I find it tacky & cheap looking. “Wacky” releases annoy me. I suppose some might find such a design appealing in a quizzical kind of way, but only until the novelty wears off. And not with a 4 figure price tag.
My name is 0uatiOW, but before you ask, no I don’t.

Now if only it was an Al Stewart "Year of the Cat"
And why 40mm. If anything this needs to be small form.

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
I'm personally really glad that I don't like it. I already have and like too many watches, so the less go on my "need to buy" list, the better.
I kind of knew I won't the minute they teased that it would be a Twelve, which is not really my thing. As a side note, I did get a Twelve Alta God for my wife's and I can say the thing is beautiful in real life. I just don't see myself wearing one, one of the main reasons being the integrated bracelet, since I use leather straps almost exclusively.
If it had those markers as fangs like in the teaser howewer, plus a few things that other sugessted, I might have change my mind. But as it is, it kind of seems like a rushed design and a missed opportunity.

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
As a child of the Nokia/Snake generation, I really wanted to love this. I’m also happy with CW doing these collaborations. But it’s just so green! And try as I might, I can’t quite get on with integrated bracelets, so I’m a bit disappointed it’s on the twelve. Saying that, there’s still an outside chance I might give it a try

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
It’s a big no from me. I’m not personally a fan of the Twelve, I do have a soft spot for Snake, but I’m not sure the execution of the inspiration is really very good.
As @mvlow says, I’ll take my Swatch Neon to the Max any day.
As with all these limited collaborations though I’ll just take it for what it is and move on by.
I’m interested by the defined pre-order window sales mechanism. Have CW ever done this before? The other brand that immediately springs to mind is Studio Underdog who I believe have done this very successfully, albeit it’s for their open series watches.
(In my humble opinion) here’s how to do a Year of the Snake tribute watch a bit better from Venezianico:

They did this quite recently with "the Red One" Bel Canto, the number of watches was not limited but they used a pre-order window.timepieces_and_bags wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 5:15 am

Green is clearly the “in” colour at the moment. Just seen this Studio Unders0g and Fears collab drop in my inbox

That colour green will never catch on. It’s a novelty watch. The forum have spoken!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 10:00 pm Well?
I think a Venom Green strap, available separately, will look quite fine on my Vulcan XII.![]()

Surely no serious brand would release a watch with such a vivid colour…

Outrageous. This lot couldn’t even be bothered to include the indices… Neil
