Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
I guess I’m a bit too old to connect with Snake as a game. Now, if it was inspired by Asteroids, with the second hand replaced by the little space fighter at the center of the screen in the game, constantly rotating on the dial to destroy asteroids and alien saucers, I might be onboard…but probably not.

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
I can appreciate the design details, the reference points and the chutzpah of this release.
But like many here, it doesn't tickle my pickle.
There will be others who adore it.
But £1k for a 'novelty' watch? It's taking the hiss.

Next month what? Tetris Twelve?
I'll find a way of not buying this one. Actually the watch I've wound for tomorrow WITHOUT ANY REFERENCE TO THIS HISSING SID has iime green elements on the dial and strap.

I didn't think it would be for me, and it isn't. There's no way I would spend that on a novelty watch. Obviously people do though.
Probably one for the Chinese market.

I was aware of that, but, at best, it’s still a very very tenuous linkBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:15 pmNot random; launch dovetails with the Lunar / Chinese New Year today for the year of the Snake.Kansas City Milkman wrote:I really don't understand this random launch. [Edit] just read Kip's post - helpful context. Still non-plussed by it

I'm sure they're lurking in the OED somewhere.

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
The relocated date window with changing icon is inventive and one redeeming feature for me.
I would question the classification of the designer as "genius" watch-tinkerer in the description. I think his design efforts with CW need constricting (pun intended)

Re: seconde/seconde Snake watch?
I'm not entirely sure that watch collectors are the target market, either for this particular watch, or the brand in general.unforced_error wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 5:02 pm Super lazy design and the whole purchase window thing means they aren't confident enough in the design to commit to a production number. It's garbage like this and the previous Desk Diver that makes serious collectors shy away from the brand.

This is like comedy: When it works, it's amazing. When it doesn't, it's painful.
While I'm a big fan of the Oris Kermit, this one isn't for me. But I hope enough people do like it and it finds its audience.

Well?
I think a Venom Green strap, available separately, will look quite fine on my Vulcan XII.
