Sealander 36mm. clasp's length

Post by sirovai »

Hi,
i'm looking for buying the sealander 36mm. The only thing that is stopping me to click is the clasp's lenght. I'm afrad its a bit too long.
Maybe someone of you that bought this watch can give me an advice, i've a 17,5mm wrist.
Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Mine is about 43mm across the widest part at the top. My wrist is a little smaller than yours and I do okay. But I do wear my wrist watch on my wrist...

It is a wonderful watch :)

I also have a slightly smaller wrist than you and I think it fits great.

I don't have this watch but i am considering. 43mm clasp on an almost 7inch wrist will be completely fine in my view (my 2 cents)

Sealander 36mm. clasp's length

Post by MistaFroggyG »

I happen to be wearing mine today. 6.75” wrist I believe. This is the 36mm watch with the 43mm clasp

I took a mirror shot to minimize distortion.

I know it's probably been posted elsewhere but it will help to know the length of the clasp in your photo and confirmation that you have the 36mm Sealander.

I edited my post for confirmation.

I think the bigger question is if a new 36mm Sealander will ship with a 43mm clasp. There seems to be a new 35mm clasp with less microadjust positions starting to show up.

I’m assuming it’s been a quiet change so that the old stock of 43mm clasps can still be sold.

^^^^ Thanks.

I'll advocate and agree that the revised, shorter 35mm clasp will be a better fit for you.

Thank you all guys! Especially to Mistafroggy for sharing a photo. So do you believe that a new smaller clasp is available?

I’ve got two 36mm LEs sat in their boxes unworn at the moment, I’ll check the clasps and report back.

They are indeed.

So the effective length of the clasp for anyone with a small wrist is…

43.5mm plus the non fully articulated link next to the clasp on the 6 side, plus for anyone using more than a couple of notches extended of the micro adjust, the bit that protrudes from the clasp on the 12 side.

In short a ridiculously long clasp for a 36mm watch.

Well it’s not short it’s far too long!

Say 53mm! :)

I'll probably be on the lookout for a couple of newer bracelets with the shorter clasp or the consort. The watches will be for my daughters, so a smaller clasp will fit better.

Do you know about the consort bracelet?
