I feel the same about the C65 Sealander, if only 1mm bigger. I guess the smallest of measurements can be chasm.

Of course, and so much of it is down to personal feel as well as wrist size. The Sealander at 39 mm is an absolute sweet spot watch for me. I did look at the Harrisons but at 43 mm I thought them just too big.

I think a colour change can change the appearance of anything completely. Many people would not even notice it was the same watch at all, and it works differently too. Some watches look better with a bracelet, others with a dark strap, and the watch colour, pvd coating, dial colour can do this.

I see no problem with owning the same watch model in different colors. If you really like a certain style of watch, why not? Most likely only a watch enthusiast truly understands this, but I find myself picking out a watch of a particular color to go with the color scheme of clothes that I am wearing for that day. I doubt that anyone but myself notices & that is fine.

Just to add to this again - I reckon we’ll all have the same shirts/pairs of jeans/trousers etc… in various colours - no different. I have virtually every colour of Lacoste polo shirt they make, the same Levi’s jeans in several colours etc… And let’s not even get into how many pairs of shoes and handbags women have the same but in different colours!

Yep. Gotta have enough tones of leather to match all the various watch straps.

Once you've decided that you "need" more than one watch, buying the same model in different colours is the logical next step surely?
Of course I'm using 'logical' in the loosest sense.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

Thanks everyone for your input, I think JAFO had one of the best responses, “I think a colour change can change the appearance of anything completely. Many people would not even notice it was the same watch at all, and it works differently too. Some watches look better with a bracelet, others with a dark strap, and the watch colour, pvd coating, dial colour can do this.”

I did realize that I have made several mistakes in my quest for solving my quandary of having the same watch in different colors. The first is trying to add some logic to this decision. How logical is it to own numerous watches when to any sane person, one watch is more than enough? And my use of the term, “prudent”, prudent would mean purchasing a Timex or a Casio and getting on with your life.

So, for this wonderful hobby/obsession, I will try to never use the terms logic, rational, common sense, practical, sensible, or prudent when trying to decide about a watch purchase. I will only use these terms to justify a watch purchase that I have already made.

Thanks - Stewart
