I’ve been mulling over this post for weeks now, trying to figure out exactly it was going to be and what I wanted to write. It’s not a review, as I’ve done that already, and I want something more than simply a CWOTD.
My first CW was this C65 Trident Vintage, a wedding gift from my wife in 2016. I’ve since added two more. My collection also includes two Seiko 5s, a Casio Royale, and an old Seiko digital that was my first proper watch. Lately though, none of them is getting wrist time, and I’m perfectly content with that.
As some may remember, I was having an issue with a bracelet pin coming loose. I finally lost the pin, and the watch sat in the watch box for about two weeks, waiting for me to get around to doing something about the lost pin. I eventually dug out my extra links to secure a new pin and got the bracelet squared away. The watch has been on my wrist ever since, and I don’t imagine switching it up anytime soon.
This watch, especially on the bracelet, just feels right. I love the slight weight on my wrist. I love the feel and the heft of the bracelet (and can’t remember the last time I wore it regularly on a strap!). I love the simplicity of the dial. It will never look dated; it’s always elegant and understated.
People talk a lot about “The One.” This is, and will forever be, the one for me. Is a one watch collection a possibility? Well, it is for me if you forced my hand.
I love this watch. And now a few pics, because that’s what we love around here.

Simple and effective.
Highly legible in all light conditions and a genuinely versatile watch.

But of course, you know we never will.
I rather suspect that more of us than would care to admit it do in fact have “The One”. I’m sure you know what mine is.
I can’t say I’m surprised at all to see you waxing lyrical about this one. Such a great watch!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Drew. As Steve points out, many of us do have our ‘one’ but it’s always nice to have some in reserve, just in case.
However it sounds like your reserve bench doesn’t have much chance of getting a look in now.

It's close in design to my 'one'
The sbgn009 from Grand Seiko. There's perfection in simplicity. The saying "less is more" can't be more true in a watch.
Nice choice.

Agree with this 100% Drew - it's like CW's equivalent of the 'little black dress'.
I always love seeing pictures of this one, because its beautiful in how restrained it is - a classic example of 'less is more'
I love how they limited the text on the dial to simply 'automatic and the name at 9 o'clock (I know not everyone was a fan of that, but I think it worked well on the C65s in particular!)
An absolute beauty!

Along with the camel strap, the LBD of straps!
That’s it exactly.
