Resizing a C6 bracelet?

Post by andy »

Hi,

I received my T3 C6 Kingfisher today and am very pleased with the overall quality & look of the watch.

However, I'm a little stumped when it comes to resizing the bracelet - is it held together with split pins or screws? It's hard to tell from looking, and my normal 'tools' that I use to push out split pins (a couple of different sized pins & paperclips, a peg & a pin hammer) don't seem to be working!

If possible I'd like to save myself a trip to town tomorrow to the jewellers, so any help from fellow C6 owners who've resized their bracelet would be great!

Many thanks,
Andy

These are pins and do come out in the direction of the angle.
With a little pin and a hammer you can make them come out.
You can rest the bracelet on piece of soft wood, that will shore the bracelet and the pin will get into the wood.

If you've got a couple of watches, or even just one with a metal bracelet it might be an idea to get yourself one of these. Saves endless trips to the watchmakers / jewellers to get bracelets resized. They are really easy to use, and cheap as sliced fried potatoes. There's thousands of them on ebay.

Hope it helps,

Dan. :)
So many watches, so little time (and money!!!).

Well after successfully getting the first split pin out, I failed dismally at going any further (bent 3 pins and almost lost the one successful split pin I had removed! :(

One thing I can say though, the bracelet and pins are well put together!

Thanks for the link Dan. I used to have a cheap one like that, that I broke trying to resize a Seiko Monster bracelet! I'm just impatient and don't want to have to wait to wear my new toy...I guess a trip to the local jewellers will be in order tomorrow after all!

Saying that I've gone and bought a new one, seeing as they're only £3 on eBay! I'm sure I'll make use of it at some point - as my wife said, "this probably won't be the last watch that I buy"!

Now I've just to decide whether I can wait a few days until it arrives and resize the bracelet myself, or still take a trip to the jewellers tomorrow :?
