Quick and dirty pics of the new C65s in the metal
Re: Quick and dirty pics of the new C65s in the metal
I dig the c65 vintage and I want one, I'm coming around to the new logo, however I still agree that it could have been a lot better. I'd also like it better at 12. Someday, I hope to see one in my collection.

Same at Porsche. Always a GTS runout model. I can't buy them like watches thoughScrogg wrote:Could well be...Caller wrote:But I guess it could be a case of them being the last of their generation?
A good analogy is Ford. Every time a new Focus is due they release either the ST or RS version (usually alternately) as a swan song for the outgoing model. Everyone knows they do it, and it always generates sales of a model that is soon to be replaced with something newer.

Seikos are 'proper' watches.Tyke wrote:Doesn't look like this will be a sales success amongst forum aficionados judging by reaction here, but then we are no longer the target audience. It could however be a runaway success for the average Seiko buyer wanting to trade up to a 'proper' watch.

Of absolutely no relevance to this thread but I like this mod a lot.tikkathree wrote:

Re: Quick and dirty pics of the new C65s in the metal
As there are gifting and extra strap options, these options would be helpful:
Logo options:
- fashion logo at 9 o'clock
- classic logo at 12 o'clock
- delete / no logo
Wish there were some more exciting dial colors like a grey, blue or green sunburst dials. How about built-to-order and ship directly from Switzerland? Choose dial color, logo option, strap, case size and perhaps even old/new-style hands.
Or even a nice cream dial instead of just white.

I do too. I am wavering between approval and disapproval of the "sculling oar" second hand, but that's just a minor thing.james80 wrote:Of absolutely no relevance to this thread but I like this mod a lot.tikkathree wrote:

Posted on FB today. Just noticed they also dropped "Trident Classic" from the dial. It all looks a bit empty.

Looks better on this model than the vintage. The applied indeces as opposed to the painted ones on the vintage make this much more contemporary and thus more suiting this logo.nordwulf wrote:Posted on FB today. I do like the polished dial over the all brushed MK1. If they would offer this with a blue or green sunray dial or perhaps some other kind of textured dial, it would make it quite a bit more interesting. It just needs something more for a 43mm watch like this.

I think it looks OK in that it is a timeless design; don't really get the 'unbalanced' comments. It looks reasonable well balanced to me.
