Morning everyone!
After many months of searching, I was able to find this watch on eBay last year… it’s stunning
One small niggle though - when screwing the crown in the watch is winding. This is not something that happens with my other CWs and it makes me worry that I may over-wind the watch after adjusting the date/time.
Does anyone have experience with this watch, is this a issue and / or is it possible to overwind?
Appreciate any guidance the forum can provide.
Many thanks,
Chris

Re: Question: C60 Trident Bronze
Something I do with all my watches is, after winding or date setting, to give a couple of winds forwards, then reverse wind three or four full turns before seating the crown on the thread to screw it home.
This was a recommendation in the manual for my Breguet Type XX.
I guess it's designed to ensure that the stem is fully disconnected before winding it home.
Hope that makes sense.

Re: Question: C60 Trident Bronze
When I owned this watch I also experienced this and it was the first time I’d seen it on a watch. I asked CW and was given a tale about manufacturing tolerances being different on bronze cases and it was fine. I didn’t believe their reasons but accepted they didn’t see it as an issue.
It is to do with the length of the stem which is potentially a mm or so too long but it won’t damage the watch as it is automatic so cannot be overwound.

Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!
Re: Question: C60 Trident Bronze
Thanks both - certainly puts my mind at ease.
I’d probably wear this watch even if it didn’t work, because the dial is stunning when the sun comes out to play.
