Question about shipping to US

Post by Rusty Strings »

Now that CW has a US location, would a watch purchased in the US be shipped from the UK or Dallas? I'm curious due to customs fees.

UK. As far as I understand, they have no (current) plans to ship from anywhere other than the UK.

Hopefully, in time, those of us on this side of the pond may be able to enjoy both shipping and repairs a bit closer to home. Soooo much easier.

You can visit the showroom and place an order in person. They will import it for you and you can pick it up from them. This is one way to avoid paying customs.

I believe if you do this, CW will pay the US Federal duty but not your State Sales Tax.

Presumably though, you have to buy in USD at CW's website price whereas, depending on the exchange rate of the day with your bank, it is often cheaper to buy from CW in GBP and let your bank handle the currency conversion; all depending on how much the US Federal Duty is that you save.

Primarily shipped from the UK but, as mentioned, may be collected from the Dallas showroom.

Duties and taxes? All explained on CW's website .

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I didn't realize that they'd list the duties as I was placing the order. Cheaper than the gas it would take me to drive to Dallas and back.
