Problems with micro adjustment
Hi guys,
I'm new here, but have recently took the plunge and purchased the CW C60 Trident 600.
Firstly, what an amazing piece of craftsmanship from the guys at CW. The precision of the machining and accuracy of the movement is phenomenal!
Unfortunately, after adjusting the links this morning I have encountered a problem. The micro quick adjustment on the clasp wont budge (the actual quick release button works, but the nothing happens when pushing the links in at the same time, or pulling them out). I've followed all instruction but cant get that extra half a link of room I need for the ideal fit.
Can anyone help or experience a problem similar to this?
Thanks in advance
Tom

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Just checked on my Trident, if I put my nail in the cut out push it towards the clasp & pull on the strap & it comes out or goes back in if I push it.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Same here, having checked a couple of mine.
Its is a spring loaded ratchet adjustment. You need to release the spring loaded clip to extend the length, but you can shorten it by pushing against the spring loading of the clip. I have several and never had a problem, nor can I recall seeing a problem being discussed on this forum.
Just wondering, Tom, if by change you have got a 'foreign object' somehow stuck in the mechanism that has seized it. Just a thought.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Might take a few goes and make sure the bracelet is set absolutely straight so you are inserting/extracting cleanly. One thing I noticed is that it’s all but impossible to do this without scratching the part of the link that moves in and out.
My name is 0uatiOW, but before you ask, no I don’t.

I have two and both work exactly as Guy described.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
I've attached a photo. When trying to adjust, I cant get past the furthmost point.
I've tried everything... as it's a spring based mechanism, is it a possibility of it getting caught/stuck?
The photo is attached
Thanks
Tom

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Not the end of the world as removed another link and better think, but would of been more ideal adjusting this to a half link off.
Just good to know.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
The spring loaded catch is stuck half way, either 'cos its (unusually) broken or just stuck.
One more 'first aid' suggestion, try a drop of light oil or small squirt of WD40 on it, to see if that releases it.
If that fails, try contacting CW. Although their warranty is, strictly, on the watch movement only, talk to them and see what they can do.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Thanks Guy
I will have a go and failing that contact CW. I only got the watch today and the adjustment of the bracelet was a big pull for me.
Thanks for your help.
As a side note, this watch is of incredible value and its opened me up to considering more of the CW collection.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Hi all,
Spoke to my local watch specialist and they seem to think the spring has jammed. They have seen it a few times on other similar designs apparently.
Glad to say Christopher Ward have acted on this and are sending a returns box for me to get this fixed or a new bracelet if beyond repair.
Its only a small thing and it certainly hasn't put me off CW, just a tad inconvenient is all.
The quality of the case and watch in general is superb and I'm really happy with everything else. The ceramic bezel on mine really makes the red pop and I've had many compliments from people at work and close friends.
Think I'm a converted CW fan... despite the issues mentioned previously.
World timer or Grand M Auto for me next in the new year I reckon...
Thanks for all your help.

Problems with micro adjustment
It’s not just a problem free journey that matters, it’s how the company handles the little hiccups along the way that counts for much. CW does well in that respect.

Re: Problems with micro adjustment
Thrilled to say I've had it returned. CW replaced the bracelet and accepted fault immediately.
Fantastic service, sent on the Monday got back on the Thursday via DPD.
Scott and Rob in customer services have been brilliant.
Strangely, it almost adds to the story of the watch.
Thanks for all your advice and good wishes! I'm a converted CW fan!!
