As it happens the Admin Team have been discussing this point and come to the conclusion that the intention of the Forum Exclusive pre-Launch was for forum members to have an exclusive 24hr period to purchase the new Special Editions.

As the relevant pages on CW's website are now locked down, or at least they appear to be, we see no reason why there may not be discussion about the watches, their specification and prices etc. along with photographs. Just don't go posting links or passwords; please.

I'm going around in circles on this one Andrew, as I'd like to get a C8 Revival but can't decide on the steel or DLC case versions.

Steel as I haven't currently got a steel case CW Aviator but have several DLC case ones; but then the DLC is an LE of only 50 pieces vs 200 pieces, so a tad more exclusive.

Additionally, CW have slipped in several subtle but distinctive design changes, compared to the C8 Pilot Mk2 that, to me, enhance the look and make it a more effective Aviator/Flieger. Spot the differences?

We then get into the realms of the C5.

I owned a quartz version of the original 39mm MkI version for a few months back in 2014/15 (bought and sold for the princely sum of £100). At the time I probably reckoned on it being 'too small'.

Tastes change and now, especially with the C1 Grand Malvern case @ 40.5mm, which I have in the guise of my C1 Powerglow, I've regained affection for CW dress watches.

Holding off for something in the sale? Not especially, as I feel there's nothing I'm missing from CW's current collection; on the other hand, never say never. :-k :-k

Sorry to say the admin team screwed this one up, though not as badly as CW did by not password protecting the pages. No reason to delete the photos that you did. Some of us didn't request a password because we won't be buyers, but are still interested in seeing the watches.
Any particular reason you didn't restore the previously deleted images?

Yes; the images posted earlier weren't actually needed to make the points the posters were trying to make, e.g. how it's possible to access the website or get to checkout and were not posted with any intention of stimulating discussion about the watches themselves.

I fall into the 'held off' camp. I'm not in the market for a dress watch, but thought I might be tempted by the C8 but it's not significantly different enough for me. I have three C8s already, an SS Pilot Mark 2 and a PVD Flyer U2 version and an Al Deere. I quite like the changes but prefer the case backs on the ones I already have (one has the fan design from the Farnborough wind tunnel and the other has the schematic of a Spitfire wing with the small exhibition window).

I have a watch fund burning a hole in my pocket so it's the sale for me, failing that a C63 Auto in green, or a Farer, or a Hamilton 'Murph', or a Seiko Alpinist...or.....

Looks like bigger hands, no date, different font for the numerals, different crown, a lumed pip on the second hand, and a bigger triangle at 12 o’clock?

I like the stainless steel over the DLC, but at 44mm, it would be ridiculously huge on my wrist….not that I’m in the market for an aviator.

I’m hoping that neither a C63 GMT in white nor a C65 Worldtimer show up in the sale at a price point below the US tariff threshold. If they do, I will experience and mini crisis!

Sorry but I disagree, Guy. I posted my screenshot on purpose to show the time I was still able to access it as somebody earlier had said it was now password protected - it wasn’t and by posting the screenshot in response to your message I thought it may help to show this. I didn’t post any passwords or links (I didn’t know them anyway!) so wasn’t in breach of any of Kips rules /requests.

Oh, and I can still buy the watch that’s in my basket if I wanted to even though I don’t have a password. So, it’s still not 100% foolproof.

^^^^ Point accepted Chris.

$64,000 question. Are you actually going to click 'buy' on the watch you have in your basket?

^^ To be honest, Guy, I’m actually very tempted. Although, technically, a dress watch, I think it’d be quite a versatile watch especially using the 40.5mm case. Plus, I really like it! I’m gonna watch the first hour or so in the cricket and think about it.

Did anyone else notice there’s a quote from Kip about the new C8?! Well done Kip!

(And that C8 is really starting to grow on me, despite the huge size.)

I beg to differ, all I posted was an image of two watches from the revival collection. I did not post any links or passwords. I also made it clear that I was not a member of CWE nor CWA. My intent was to help illustrate that even with my limited IT skills I was able to access the collection on the CW site. If anything I would have thought that the images would have stimulated some interest in the collection. As far as I can see I broke no rules yet my posts were deleted.

And after all of this, still no images of the C5. Guess I should have requested a password. Oh well.
