… activity to fully power up?
In my view? No.
When I picked up my C12X-Ti from CW Towers in December it had already been set and fully wound. It is still ticking along now, without ever having been put down for long enough to allow the PR to completely run down.
As I was keen to check the PR I put the watch down at 11:15 Wednesday 12 March. I picked it up again to check 10:15 Monday 17 March, 119 hours and still a bit of PR remaining…
By 16:15 it was still running, however it was evident that the PR was almost exhausted. 125 hours. Not bad, not bad at all…
I picked it up and started wearing it.
By 15:40 Wednesday 19 it was as almost fully powered up…
This is the 1st CW I have owned with the SH21 movement and I was keen to see how it performed. So far so good.
It is fair to say that with a few other watches I own with approximately 70 hours of PR, I have occasionally managed to fully power up with no more than 3 hours of brisk activity.
My activity during the power up period…
- cooking a couple of evening meals
- loading and unloading the dishwasher
- an hour and a half of yoga
- about 3 hours walking around the local fields and pond
- a couple of hours cutting back a budlega
- rest of the time just normal home based activity
I deliberately picked a period when I wasn’t particularly active, to give the PR a fair test.

I'm sure the power up period you mentioned above would fully wind most watches easily.
Mine is less than half of yours during my normal working days but my old C9 SH21s would just charge up 60%.
