If I'd still do scuba diving, I'd get the rubber strap on the LE.
Stronger still: if I'd still do scuba diving, I'd get two... one with a rubber strap, and one with a bracelet.
For anything else than scuba diving, I cannot even begin to see why you'd want a rubber strap. The bracelets of CW watches are equally well integrated.

They are very good. My only criticism though is the fact that all the links are the same size. It means that coupled with the deployment clasp that fine adjustment can be very hit or miss. My first CWL was with the steel bracelet but I have stuck with leather for every purchase since. However the quality is there and it really increases the weight of the watch which adds to the feeling of quality. You just have to hope your wrist fits the adjustment that is acheavable.Rick wrote:I not seen the quality of CWs braclets yet as i have only bought watches with leather straps.Hope they are good.
As for the C6 itself. I see that "orders were being taken for despatch the end of August" has now been removed from the CWL website but there is still no sign of my own order being dispatched. It is time now that CWL gave us an update on the situation. Even if they were shipped on Monday that is the 11th of September. That aint August in my book. I can live with a delay but please tell me about it. Dont leave me in limbo. Its dragging on now and at least for me there is still no acknowledgement to the original e,mails. Im starting myself to feel disapointed if Im honest. Its not the usual level of service I have got used to from CWL. As I say if there is a delay then fair enough. The deafening silence though is irritating.

Any news on this yet? I also checked the tracking site and it seems that the watches haven't been delivered to CW yet. Strange we were not warned of a delay on the website or informed in the acknowledging Email. That would be normal business practice. Instead the question and answer section on delivery promises prompt despatch.Hans wrote:Hmmm, strange, CW normally replies very promptly to requests by mail. I am certain that the KF's will be shipped any moment, but I understand the impatience, hey, I am also waiting for my Kingfisher! I'll check with Chris to see what the status is, hope to let you guys know asap

Didn't Chris mention that he was going to fly with a friend of him, in a small aircraft somewhere in Nevada?

Re: Positive discussion on WUS
If he's abroad, my guess is that there are production difficulties on the Kingfisher and he's trying to sort it out. He may well be ill, or maybe there are cash flow problems, so stuff's not being delivered. We shouldn't have to make these speculations. We know CW usually provides top customer service, but new customers, like those he is canvassing on Time Zone, don't. The business has grown, so there must be a someone out there who is in charge if CW is away, otherwise the business will suffer. If we don't hear anything by Friday, I for one shall investigate.President wrote:One does not abandon one's business! Phone them up, it's the best way to target that size of business.charlesdidi wrote:If he's abroad, my guess is that there are production difficulties on the Kingfisher and he's trying to sort it out. I hope its none of these.charlesdidi wrote:He may well be ill, or maybe there are cash flow problems, so stuff's not being delivered.
It is odd though and it is not like CWL. Hey we realise there can be problems but it seems CWL has slipped up in the PR side of things. They could have at least alerted us to any issues that might delay dispatch. After all we ordered them on the statement that they would be despatched at the end of August.
I have to say though that 2 things worry me about this.
1. It is not the usual CWL way.
2. Hans has no idea what is going on either and that is the one that really worries me. You would think that someone who provides a good PR forum like this would at least know if there were problems with deliveries etc. After all this forum is the source of news from CWL regarding new products so why not problems too.
I hope it is just a communication problem on behalf of CWL but this time I award them the following score.
P.S.
You actually have a point there President. Very odd indeed.President wrote:One does not abandon one's business!

Re: Positive discussion on WUS
OK, rather than merely speculate, let's hear it from the Master himself:
Just two minutes ago, Chris told me that he wasn't particularly happy with the way the case was engineered - the case's weight was insufficient. Rather than supply the watches with cases that didn't meet his spec, he took the cases back and had them re-engineered, which delayed delivery by something like two weeks. These have now been finished - it's a matter of getting the backs screwed on and things like that, and Chris expects delivery to start in "a matter of days".
I might add here that Chris knows that I had't ordered a Kingfisher standard, and that he didn't know about the tantrum that the forum was throwing - he told me this when I asked him why he didn't reply to an email, and before I could even ask about the Kingfisher delivery situation (which I did mean to ask).

Okay I will readjust my score.Hans wrote:So instead of answering emails al day Chris was improving our watches?
I am still dropping Chris by 2 points for not keeping the natives posted about the delay. Does he not realise we all get excited at the prospect of a new CWL watch. There is no excuse. What would we do if Santa decided to postpone Xmas for 2 weeks. There would be riots. Let that be a lesson learned Mr CW. Dont tease us and then leave us in limbo in future.
