In the meantime, I still think the C3 is the best option here, despite being a quartz. Is he fussed about a watch being quartz?
Hi atnits, he's not fussy abt quartz or auto but think he would prefer an auto.

Really like C60 n C3 but can only choose ONE, sigh...

Going onto dangerous ground here.......

You could buy the watches you like the look of........then sit him down with a bottle of very chilled "Tiger" beer, with a frozen beer glass.......

And explain to him that there are 3 boxes in front of him......he can open all 3, look, try, and admire.......but he can only choose 1..........

He takes the one he likes best, he's happy, your happy, and send the other two back to CW.....you get your money back less the postage for the return, and for a few S$ well worth it.....maybe..........or he might want all 3, so has mortgaged his next few gifts for 2013/2014?

As one of the few female regulars in this forum, that's what we've been waiting to hear! On the other hand, that means you might as well look for a different CW watch for your husband in the meantime, and get him the smaller Trident next year :D

With regard to the fit of CW's 42mm-sized watches, this is me wearing the red limited edition of the C60 on my 15.5cm wrist. It's a bit big, but it's not unusual for ladies to wear sports/dive/outdoors watches that large.

Using that as a comparison, 42mm should fit most men, even those with small wrists. I do accept however that your husband may simply prefer smaller watches even if a 42mm one could fit without difficulty.

If he was still open to 42mm sizes and you didn't have a tight deadline, I would have asked you to consider the proposed 2013 Forum Limited Edition watch, which has a sporty design. It's Design A in this thread:

http://www.christopherwardforum.com/vie ... 89#p189258

I guess that means the C3 Mk I or MkII is now the likely choice?
Hi asqwerth, WOW your watch is Cool, think hubby would like the red dial (he likes bright cheerful colours), so different. He doesnt mind whether is quartz or auto but think he prefers an auto.

Saw the proposed 2013 Forum Limited Ed, not quite his style.

Lots of gentlement (this forum) prefer the C60, said that it is sporty/casual yet elegant enough for office/business dinner/meeting (he doesnt have formal black tie). Husband likes sporty/chrono yet elegant, only wish the C3 was auto then it would be perfect :(

Looking at my C3, you quickly forget that it's a Quartz. I don't have the MkII but the MkI is lovely and they're good for the price. An Auto version is in the works I hear but God knows when.

For some reasons, C3 MKI gives me a very 'clean & sharp' look, you know what I mean???? :) How's the quality of quartz movement (Calibre: Ronda 5040.D)? I have no idea at all. Coz lots of guys here prefer the ETA movement.

As the C3 MKII, looks different & unique (the colour of the dial charcoal) with sun-ray effect.

The Ronda 5040.D is a great movement. But, it is quartz..........

Get the C60. He will love it. :)

I would get him the C3 and the latest Christopher Ward catalog for Christmas. His second watch for his birthday could be a C60........we ALL know that it will not be his only CWL watch. The C3 checks all your boxes style wise and it ia a great quartz movement.

I'm a supporter of the everyone should have one great quartz watch in their collection.

Best of luck with your decision!

I've only had it one day but it's running great for me. Chrono works great too.

Hi guys/ladies

How often do I need to change the battery for C3 MKI/MKII you know? Coz I had a bad experience with my Cartier, didnt check or change the battery for years (be exact more than 10 years) & finally decided to do so, cost me a bomb (300 pounds) & waited for 8 weeks. They had to replace a lot of parts (had to order parts from France or somewhere). I know I know, it's my fault, promise wont do it again : P .

Can I ask my local watch shops to do it? Or is it better & safer to send it back to CW?

Pls advise.

That'd be awesome. I'd buy one if it's an auto.

Much of the battery life will depend on how much use the chrono function gets. You can drain a battery in 6-12 months if the chrono is used a lot. That said...initial battery life should be somewhere between 3 -5 years. Subsequent life about every 2-3 years or so. These are averages and much depends on the chrono usage.

The reason for the shorter time frame of subsequent batteries is that a movement collects dirt/dust etc. and oils on the mechanicals dry as the watch ages, causing more drain on the battery.

A local qualified watchmaker will have no trouble changing a battery in a C3. Just make sure they are able to pressure test for water resistance as well, when the time comes.

A 38mm C60? Very good news. I've got a 16.5cm wrist and think the existing 42mm model might be just a smidgen too big. If only there was a 40mm Trident coming, though!
