Ooh - cancel the August holiday!!!

Post by tikkathree »

This vid was produced for the WatchGecko channel before the recent 'Makers Day.

Say what you like about Mike, he's certainly a disrupter!!!

We get, again, a heads up for new launches

at the end of April "A very remarkable watch",

"Some humour coming through the summer"

and a big fuss about the end of August and stopping your holidays short "for a launch that is amazing"

and a "potentially expanded Bel Canto offer coming in the autumn. And that's just some of it."

AND news of a company move from No.1 to new quarters!

Oh aye and mention @ 13:15 of "a big party which I'm sure we'll be inviting everybody to"

Sounds like this 20th year for CW is going to be a cracking one! Looking forward to the new releases!

I enjoyed that, thanks.

Sequential servicing .... - fascinated by this. I feel quite strongly about it too - and I'm glad that CW don't do it

And a party full of watchies??
I'm right up for that

I am literally buying nothing watchwise to leave me suitably resourced to meet the 20th Anniversary challenges.

Thanks for sharing.

I did find it interesting to note that Kate, the marketing director, never once referred to the company as Christopher Ward, only ever CW. Especially given her role within the company.

Yes, interesting and it leads me to wonder whether the brand identity is quietly being repositioned away from the identity of the "founder no longer involved? For me that would work nicely. Isn't it long overdue?

I could get all grumpy old man about the modern world and the marketing director not having a surname but having finished my working life in an organisation where "surname or no surname" on the corporate badge was a matter of individual choice it's of no consequence.

Given her CV (as opposed to Curriculum Vitae), I'm sure she knows what she's doing.

^^^^ I’ve no doubt it was a conscious choice on her part.

I was glad to hear that the new HQ will still be close by in Maidenhead. I'll be there asap.

I just want to know how long she spent deciding on the initialism instead of the acronym… ‘Here at Cw, we work hard to…’. I’d need to brush up on my Welsh pronunciation!

With rumours circulating that Bremont are scaling back plans for production in the UK, I thought CW could have put in a cheeky offer to buy the wing off them.

We’ll have to organise another forum outing though if the new place has room.
