$500 - CW Trident
$2000 - Tudor BB 58
$5000 - Tudor Pelagos FXD
$10000 - Rolex Explorer 39mm
Over $10000 - Rolex Submariner

All very versatile, 2 blue and 3 black, some would say boring.
I'm currently over half way through that list, having started with the CW and currently owning the Pelagos.
Heaven only knows, when the Rolex will happen.

The only problem was with the BB58 which is a bit too shiny and picks up scratches easily.

Fear not, I viewed this as a largely hypothetical exercise. You are not going to have deliver on your selection. I guess you could call it something of a virtual watch box. There are no waiting lists, you get an indefinite warranty and you get to keep your significant other on-side (this is a human not a watch).

^^ The GO Senators are all so beautiful, Steve. Overshadowed by ALS, which is a shame. I'd go for the regulator myself, but that one is really great too. Keep holding out hope that GO will introduce a slightly smaller version.

For me, I already own the “one watch” at any price level and that’s my Omega Aqua Terra 41mm 😃

I wear it almost all the time now, it’s dressy but also can be worn for swimming (I’m on holiday with it now), work or even cleaning out the geese shed 👍

At the lower price point ($2000 or less) it would be my C65 Cranwell 👍

C9 - 5 Day Small Seconds
C65 - Cranwell, Super Compressor
C60 - Concept
C5 - FLE
C1 - Bel Canto, Grand Malvern 5 Day
Omega - Aqua Terra, SMP Nekton
Breitling - SuperOcean

Here’s mine but the only one I would feel safe wearing when I’m at work would be the Hamilton due to the high risk of damaging it.

- Under 500 USD or 450 GBP - Hamilton Khaki Field 38mm
- Under 2,000 USD or 1800 GBP - CW C63 Sealander GMT
- Under 5,000 USD or 4,500 GBP - Tudor Ranger
- Under 10,000 USD or 9,000 GBP - Rolex Explorer
- Over 10,000 USD or 9,000 GBP - Rolex GMT-Master II

Brilliant! This exercise has done more to help me think forwards about what I really like than anything that’s come before. There’s definitely a theme in what I like!
The polar explorer may be the weakest link. It’s still in my mind an all time great, but I don’t quite hear the same call for it as I used to.

I’m tempted to sell up now and start searching for my birth year datejust. Wearing a Yema while I search...

Thanks Pete - this has been so helpful!

^^ Wonderful! Glad I could be of such help!

Those are some crackin' choices. And I can tell you're partial to white dials, as am I! :)

I just couldn't do this at any level, except my two most expensive watches, new cost and what I paid cost are in their own brackets.

Speedmaster, and Montblanc Timewalker. After that I just couldn't pick a winner.
