Considering my poetic masterpiece took all of 8 mins to compose I feel kinda proud (and ashamed).
I shook my head with disbelief
As I sat there on my bed
"That's another 10 weeks I have to wait ..
.. when she's back in Maidenhead!"
I picked up my poorly Trident
With its bezel all askew
"Oh well" I thought, "things could be worse"
But it's back to the end of the queue
I packed her up, back in the box
To invoke the warranty
And in the meantime, I'll replace her with
My fabulous, old C3

Roses are red, violets are blue;
Some poems rhyme, others don't.
Nothing to do with watches, but one of the greatest poems of all time. (Existential link there)

Re: Ode to a Departed Watch
The ones I don't get are the artsy-fartsy beatnick style poems, like
She walked
to the door with her
robe dragging on the floor
unaware that time
was passing by the dog
nipping at her ear or was that
the sound of the clicking gears
in her insane head
I can hear the bongos and smell the cigarettes and the grass and the coffee ....
