Agreed - it has been hijacked for use as a personal soapbox, but in so happening this has illustrated perfectly the point of my original post!

It's not gone as far off track as some other recent threads on a similar topic. Nor has it become quite so "personal", IMO.

Are we just going to keep starting new threads on basically the same subject, only to lock them when it's judged (by whom?) to have 'gone too far'?

Leave it, let people moan, let them have a pop at each other.

Those who know better can just ignore the thread and let the children fight it out...

Wise words. Maybe we should have a section entitled not the Bear Pit, but the Ball Pond or Sand Pit.

Might as well leave it open, nothing much else on the CW section being posted so this is the only entertainment

CW sells hundreds of watch per week.

A reasonable customer has a problem and comments on the forum: interesting information for us all.

A random muppet has a bad experience because they are disorganised and clueless: a negative review for sure, but otherwise a laugh for those of us with more than two brain cells to rub together.

Almost as entertaining, in fact, as back-to-back episodes of Holby City.

This forum is in the doldrums

What is needed is a new and realistic rebranding by CW and a new logo that we can all rally around shortly followed by a new watch priced appropriate to the current status of the brand. We might then possibly increase our stake beyond the current 2% of CW sales.

It's not been the same since Liam Gallagher's Mrs left.

I do think CWard can step up a little on their QC. I think some problems should have been noticed before even sending the watch out to customers. Problems such as this

OK, I've watched the video. What's the problem? Can't work one out.

The GMT hand is perhaps a few minutes out - a common enough problem on 2893 movement watches - regardless of watch brand, and (apparently) often caused by rough handling in the postal system - something that is difficult to catch in QC, but more likely to be seen in CW watches due to the 'internet-only' business model.

that said, to be fair, one of the most common complaints i've seen here is about poorly packed watch boxes. like people are receiving CWs where there is no packing material inside the watch box and the watch is loose. if they were packed more securely (which would mean, say, a small handful of bubble wrap inside the watch box to keep things from moving), this may be less of an issue.

Fair comment, and an easy fix - or at least a reduction in the risk.
