No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
Hi
I just bought a C63 Blue Marine from eBay . It was on a Tide strap and I knew that I would buy the bracelet from CW that I already have on my Snow Leopard .
Imagine then that I was surprised and miffed to find the bracelet is discontinued. I have exchanged a few emails with Katie Howard just to check
that I had not misunderstood. Katie was as ever brilliant in her support but can do nothing.
Not being able to get a bracelet for a watch that CW supplied new in May seems less than satisfactory.
Any ideas where I can go next?
Alan

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
1. Ask Katie what bracelet they could supply you with.
2. Ask here: post a "wanted" ad.
3. Ask Wardhoard.
4. Think about a generic bracelet from the wider world. It's likely to be straight lugged rather than curved but where's the harm?

Thanks for the suggestions Katie had no CW alternative. To be honest after all the emails I have now decided to sell the Blue Marine on eBay.tikkathree wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:26 pm 1. Ask Katie what bracelet they could supply you with.

For me my Snow Leopard on its bracelet is such a great package that anything else suffers in comparison.
I am also very aware that this is the very definition of a First World problem

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
I don't see the issue here.
Why not simply use the bracelet from your Snow Leopard on the Blue Marine as needed, then swap it back after.
Best of all it is already sized for you.
I currently have three C60 Pro 600s with one bracelet that I swap between them. Simples.

I know that EBay is now fee-free but would you not consider offering it here? I'd be confident that you won't get the buyer's remorse "watch not as described" malarkey.

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
If you already have the bracelet can't you swap it over when you want, or is the new watch for someone else?

Hi
They are ( or would be ) my two daily wearers so it would mean frequent changes Also to be honest I am very narked that they can't supply
a bracelet for a watch that was sold new six months ago.
Anyway I still have my Snow Leopard which I can now wear more often. It is not a hardship is it.
Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
I appreciate it's a bit of a pain, but at least you do have a bracelet if you want a change from a strap.alanpar wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 10:03 pmHi

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
I’m surprised CW would develop a new case for only a 300 watch run. Were it for me, I would think to hang onto the watch in the expectation there would be a future release of the same size and they would have a bracelet to match it. Also, I am one to swap one sized bracelet across multiple watches if they fit. For example, all my older C65s share one bracelet; I find it easier this way.

I don't know if "daily" really means one day at a time for you but whatever, you're going to become highly adept at using the quick release captive spring bar mechanism aren't you?alanpar wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 10:03 pmHi

I'd be willing to bet the price of a bounty bar that other 22mm bracelets as advertised on the CW website https://www.christopherward.com/watch-s ... rt=0&sz=12 would fit.

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
The C63 SH21 Snow Leopard and C63 SH21 Blue Marine were released in March of 2023 as 150 pc.(ea) Limited Editions. The standard case was modified to accept the SH21 movement. As a result of the modification a different shoulder piece was required for a proper bracelet fit. As this case was limited, CW must project how many bracelets will be sold. Then when they are gone they no longer offer the bracelet model for sale.
Whether or not CW will use this case again is unknown at this point but this might help.
The bracelet for these models was coded 22-STL-21-SXS-MAW. This consists of bracelet piece 22-STL-20-SS1 and shoulder pieces SHDR-22-STL-21-SXSW.
I would suggest asking CW if they have the shoulder pieces you could purhase or they could make up a bracelet using the pieces and a bracelet from a C65 Aquitaine that uses the same 22-STL-20 SS1 bracelet component. Of course, if there are no shoulder pieces remaining you are left looking aftermarket.

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
Maybe you could take a shot in the dark at another bracelet. Maybe the C65 Chronograph bracelet would be a decent fit, since it’s a thicker 41mm case with 22mm lugs. You never know. I used to wear the bracelet from my 40mm C60 on my 39mm C63 happily. Even though it wasn’t a 100% perfect and CW wouldn’t endorse it, it worked.

Re: No Bracelets for Blue Marine or Snow Leopard
Hi
Apologies for not acknowledging all the helpful suggestions for my Blue Marine dilemma - I was away last week.
I am particularly grateful to Kip for the enormous effort he put in to identifying the various components to build your own bracelet.
I have now sold the Blue Marine so long live the Snow Leopard.
Once again my thanks to all.
