Hello again Peggy, the other chaps have said it all really, NN is what is says, nearly new however I have had 3 now and they have been pristine, maybe I have been lucky but cw have very high standards which is lucky for all of us and the no quibble returns are fantastic! It is a great price most if the time for the watches and what you get is amazing for the discount

I had a nightmare of a NN watch (the bezel was scratched ALL OVER and the watch didn't work) around early 2011, but that seemed to have been a one-off occurrence which was never repeated (at least amongst people on this forum). I returned it and got a refund of my payment plus the return postage.

The other NN watch I bought at the same time was pristine.

It raises an interetsing question - what does CWL do with the watches where condition is not good enough for NN - for whatever reason? there might be a few interesting watches floating around...

There shouldn't be any under the new arrangements where returns should not have been worn.

I guess CWL have the option of recasing a damaged watch or one that has been returned as not working.

Looks like one has to be pretty quick out of the blocks - the NN section has pared back already! Thanks for your valuable input to all that responded. In short, I will set my expectations at non-pristine and await being surprised.

My NN was pristine cosmetically, but ran 40s/day slow. Had to return it for adjustment, and then after 2 months it again suddenly started running far-out-of-spec slow. Returned it again, and this time the movement was replaced.

So, a lot of hassle, but CW paid postage both ways on both returns (not cheap to the US). I do think that they could have saved themselves a lot of effort and money by checking the watch more thoroughly before having sent it out in the first place.

Was it a C9 GMT? Would be a good idea to send out a brief questionaire with the return materials to establish precisely why a watch was being returned for a refund so the defects (if any) could be rectified before resale.

Most of the NN watches I have bought have been as new. But one of the early ones was not. It was a C8 Blackhawk and who had it before me must have been a right nutter. They had taken the back of but they had mashed most of the screws and it looks like they make have tried to remove the crystal as there was a chunk out beside the crystal. Being black the steel showing through glinted when it caught the light. But that is the advantage of CWL as they have the 60 day no quibble guarantee. And luckily Wera had another (good) one tucked away so it worked out fine in the end.

My NN was in pristine condition very hard to find any marks on it at all!, you could see the strap had been put on maybe a handful of times but that was all :)
