Hi guys, just wanted a little advice on what to do regarding my Twelve that CW kindly replaced last month due to a misaligned applied Twin-Flags.
Unfortunately it has stopped working after only wearing 3 times.
Yesterday I immediately noticed the crown stiffness when winding, it also has a scraping sound with a what feels like resistance from the spring.
When winded a few times and crown screwed down the seconds hand doesn't move - however if I shake the watch once or twice firmly, the seconds hand will move briefly then stop.
Can the watch be fully refunded? I am still within the 60/60 guarantee window (12 days remaining) and I'm not happy with waiting potentially another 3+ months for repair on what Is supposed to be a new watch.

What you are probably hearing and feeling is the rotor spinning. It sounds like spinning rotor syndrome to me.
One note on shaking the watch. One or two shakes won't put much wind into the movement. The SW200 needs 1200 full rotations of the rotor to fully wind the watch. So one or two shakes probably isn't even giving you one full rotation. Shake it for a minute or so to get it going then set and wear it.
Something to try. Sometimes if a watch with the SW200 is held with the dial horizontal to the ground when winding there isn't enough force to overcome the friction of the reversing wheels. Try holding the watch with the dial at 45 degrees or better. You may initially feel some resistance but then the reversers will let go and you should be able to wind as normal. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't but it is always worth a try.
If the above doesn't work then the only recourse is to get the automatic winding works serviced. From there it is up to you what you want to do but you will have to work it out with CW customer service.

Shaking sounds awkward to me. Holding the watch vertically in the hand and then rotating your wrist back and forth will turn the rotor back and forth. I typically do a back and forth (180x180 degrees) about 50 times to get things going. I don't often manually wind. One of mine could well have a spinning rota syndrome, but it works fine without winding. It's a SW200-1 COSC movement and I'll send it in only if I'm having a real problem with it.

Sounds like stuck reverser wheels. Send it back to CW. Do not try and force it…
Unless you want to run the risk of shearing a few teeth off the reverser wheels!

Why are you guys shaking your watches to auto wind them? If you hold the watch flat, you can manipulate the watch to get the rotor to spin.
The only sound advice for anything in warranty, that isn't working as described, is to send it back for repair or replacement.
