I like the watch a lot! Great new release from CW!!!!!

But the wristshot looks awful. Looks like one of those renders from Ali!

It's the dive depth in meters or feet.

Same here, but I don’t worry about it. I’m sure enough people will think it’s wonderful. :ka:

I think it looks great.

If I was still buying random watches, just because I like them and think “oh a summer watch (whatever that is!) I will buy it” I would buy it. In particular it looks great on the blue/orange tropic.

However…

I would soon become rather annoyed by the too long for a 7” wrist tropic strap and would quickly realise that after an initial flurry, it would hardly get worn. So it is a pass for me.

I'm keeping my powder dry for the C60 'Ultimate' due to be released in August.

Until then, I'll stay happy with my C65 DiveTimer.

Absolutely bloody awful. The white inner dive bezel looks too big and unbalanced. The whole thing looks like a dogs dinner especially after the great stuff it follows. YMMV

I love my original Ocean Blue SC, and this does not look anywhere as good.

The concentric circles on the dial just make the dial area look small, compared to the internal bezel. And the internal bezel looks larger than on the original, even though it's not, because all the small minute markers were removed from it, leaving huge empty white spaces.

First impressions looks like a childs watch 🤷‍♂️
Secondly it's a hybrid of the previous model compressor with a Divetimer inner, which quite frankly nobody will ever use that function....
It will certainly gain attention and be a talking point around the dinner table. Will be interesting if it flies off the shelf....not so sure 🤔

I think the relative simplicity of the original SC made it very attractive. I imagine the dive timer markings make this a more serious tool for those who need it. I prefer the original as a wristwatch though. (Initial reactions, but they often change as you get used to things)

I'm on the 'this looks great' side of this particular fence - I've always loved that CW went to the trouble of making a real super compressor (rather than just the style), and so I also kinda like that this new one adds another interesting complication that isn't in any way necessary these days

I agree with @asqwerth though about the white bezel - I do miss the minute track on it, although I wonder if everything would have looked too busy with it.

I wonder if we'll see a second dial variant down the line, of this new 'elite' SC but without the dive timer?

Ohh, and that two tone tropic strap is just fantastic!

It looks like the old super compressor and the dive timer had a child.

@Stif I do like the 2-tone tropic strap.

But one of the reasons I like the original look was that the dial and marker design had a nice 70s retro look to it. They got the indices and lume "pip" spot on for that old school look. There's no such vibe (IMO) in this new version.

Mike France did say that they would pay a bit more attention to the Super Compressor. And here it is. I am glad that they have kept the SC alive and valid in the range. I kind of like this new one. For me the dial is too busy just like the original Divetimer was but as a fun "Summer" watch or a weekend watch it's fine.
