Re: New sports watch preview

Post by A1soknownas »

I was going to update my guess from a 12 style case with a clear dial following the later teasers. However, I am not sure if guessing has stopped following the attendance of a few to the previews.

So here are some general predictions:

- It may look like a watch that already exists.
- MF will proclaim it to be amazing value compared to others (and it probably is - see final point though...)
- It won't be said that CW has <50% less perceived brand value than those it is compared against.
- MF may make some claims that are open to some interpretation but sound really good if taken as 'facts'.
- There will be none in stock when released and it will be on pre-order.
- Customers will give CW a deposit (interest free loan) to purchase.
- There will be delays in delivery due to production issues (when they could have just solved that by making some stock before selling it).
- There will be a bunch of sycophantic reviews on YouTube despite claims of independence (but might get their own bespoke version in the future...)
- MF may announce it as the fastest/best selling model ever, but not reveal the objective criteria so almost all can claim to be too.
- The lower models in the CW range will continue to increase beyond inflation and by about 20% in a years time as CW slowly drags the brand position higher (which helps supplement the 'value' of the hero models).

And following all that it will probably be a good watch

I agree there should be too, but I don't think they will care. I reckon the reality is that with this or the Bel Canto whilst they obviously want to sell them, the real aim is to significantly increase the volume of the easier to produce models at a slowly repositioned higher price. It is just good business I guess. Other brands thrive on unavailability and it doesn't do them any harm.

We will see in a few days or whenever the reveal is I guess.

An electronic communication from CW that has driven you over the edge and forced you to reach for a large glass of JD before sundown!🤣😀

^^^^ At least we now know what time the release is tomorrow, Brian.

It's a weird email, though, hard to decipher the 'flashing images'. :-k. :-k

Unbelievably Neil, you’re right on the money.

Just had a shower, my wife has supplied a large (I say, a large) JD Bonded Rye while I watch Ronnie play snooker.

They all have absolutely nothing to do with the watch that’s being announced tomorrow morning?

I saw a Veritasium on making Japanese swords. The last email made my think of a Japanese sword slicing thin layers of things. Maybe the new watch is like the swiss army knife of horology. I am looking forward to the reveal anyway. :D

It will, at least, have one beneficial effect.
