New sealander no crown pop?

Post by abeardsley2020 »

My new c63 sealander 36mm arrived today. When I unscrew the crown is unscrews fine but there is no pop like I can feel on the dune it simply unscrews is this normal? I thought they are all the pop sensation you can feel? Appreciate anything that can reassure me or if I have a faulty crown etc. thank you

As long as it unscrews sufficiently so that you can wind the watch without the crown re-engaging with the tube threads, it's fine. Not all watches have the same pop or clearance from the tube. If you can wind it, it's fine.

Out of interest, do you have to press in against a spring to get it to screw closed?

Yer have to push it to get to thread back. Just pretty sure all other watches I’ve had make a click type pop

I think this happens when you have a 'sticky' crown stem gasket. My Super Compressor doesn't pop right away sometimes. If I go to turn it, it pops right out.
