On the other hand I bent the bejeezus out of the pin tool I had been using yesterday resizing a bracelet.

All these crappy methods sure beat the ultimate crappy bracelet method: folded links on my Tudor bracelet. Count your blessings.

Love the watch so much, ordered another one in red. This time without the bracelet since I already have one. Lol

I'd grab an aftermarket Rolex bracelet for that bad boy. That way you won't stretch out the original and you will get solid links. I think you can even find them with solid end links these days. Either way a step up and protection for the original vintage one. I have had pretty good luck in the $75 range.

Rubber Strap fit the new 36mm Sealander?

Post by rosstcorbett »

The new 36mm Sealander comes on bracelet and leather straps.Would the current rubber strap for the 39mm fit as that is my preferred strap?

Probably a rather silly question so please forgive me if so.

Many thanks 😊

Yes; the rubber strap, or any other straight end strap, will fit a C63 Sealander Automatic and a C63 Sealander 36mm, as they both have a 20mm lug width.

Happy hunting.

Smth Im wondering all of a sudden, and the website is not completely clear about this: the bracelet on the 36 has on the fly adjustments just like the 39, right?

God i hope so. It's really hard to go back to bracelets that don't have that feature (looking at you, Grand Seiko).

Yes, it has on-the-fly adjustment. Indeed, the adjustment is better than on the 39mm bracelet, as there are more adjustment slots to choose from. The clasp is slightly longer to accommodate this, but not in any detrimental way.

Quick question for the owners: Several unboxing videos I've seen on Youtube have the watch at 11.2 or 11.3mm thick, when the website lists them at 10.75mm.

I know it's all extremely minor issue here but I very much like the idea of a sub 11mm watch. Which is it?

Thanks a lot?

I got a 36mm in Jura Green. It’s certainly over 11mm, pretty chunky for such a small watch IMO.

It’s listed as 10.75 in the Archive, in the handbook and on the website. Perhaps an owner could get a pair of Vernier calipers on it so that we can clear it up?

I don't have a 36mm to measure but I do have a 39mm.

On the website the thickness is measured at 11.25mm. I measure 11.65mm. I measure 11.22 without the crystal. It is tough to grab a measurement without the crystal.
I'm guessing that all of the thickness measurements on the website are without the crystal.

I measure the Dartmouth at 11.93 and the book says 11.55.

I measure the C65 GMT at 12.31 and the book says 12.05.

Interesting. I’ve just measured my C63 (listed as 11.85) at 12.0.

The little bit of crystal sticking up could account for 0.15 mm.

My calipers are very basic (not electronic).

Maybe we could find out from CW how they measure this.
