This feels so tacky. It's obviously trying to draft the film - dropping the day before it hits theaters, mirroring shots from the film, and even aping the title treatment by being *just different enough.* The result is that it comes off as the wish version of a better watch that can't stand on its own merits. The **** part is the watch is good, but the marketing team makes it look like such a desperate plea for attention that you can't help but wonder what they have to hide by pretending an association with the more well known product. Sort of like those knock off movies with "adjacent" titles (Chop Kick Panda! Transmorphers! Atlantic Rim!) that hit streaming immediately after big hits.

Yup, received the marketing email which sends you to the original Dune range launch video.
@38mm it's not my favourite case size.

@Spytap I'm sorry to say I know nothing of the film to which you refer; that'll be my loss I expect.

I’d not made the link to the film in my head. I just looked and the watch and found a lot to like.

I’m another who for whom it’s on the smaller side, but I can live with that.

The picture with the email I received was from the original CW Dune advertising video that was on Youtube a year ago. The watch looks like a nice version of the Dune series of watches and I don't see the tacky advertising by the marketing team. If you want to view tacky advertising all you have to do is look at major brands that hire celebrities to wear their watches in lifestyle shots. Most of whom probably wouldn't wear the watch themselves unless it was free and they were paid to wear it. I don't need football players to sell me a nice watch.

CW is doing nothing with its advertising that most other marketing teams are doing in one way or another.

I did not make the connection to the film. I am frustrated with CW with no larger sizes. This would be a purchase is 40mm or 41mm. I have sold all my CW’s and have none in the collection currently.

Maybe all this rain is fogging me 'ead   Are you saying you don't like any of the current offerings at 40mm and bigger? And you've sold those you previously owned?

FWIW my preference is 40mm upwards though I do enjoy the 39mm Sealander GMT.

CW's original pic, now a year or so old, taken from their website promoting the C65 Dune 3 hander.

There may be more than a degree of coincidence in the timing of the launch of the new C65 Dune GMT, but the artwork and fonts used are a year or so old and are notably different to that used for the film D U N E 2.

Interesting that CW has chosen to use one colour for the GMT ring and not the more frequently used two colours; as on the Dune GMT LE.

This could be a nice watch with a decent colour palette. Maybe they will add to it.

As it stands…drab!

Though I have a sampling across the CW offerings, I find I’m most drawn to the smaller C65 line. The GMT is a nice expansion of the Dune family. And others have been calling for the return of the GMT since the LE sold out a year ago.

A quick trip to the tikkathree museum of Christopher Ward GMT watches reveals in a snapshot of the genre that only one of eight, a Trident C60 Mk1 pepsi, has a bezel whose colours are of a number >1. I submit, M'lud, that the brand has a certain amount of "form" in this area of design.

This is just a regular release, not a limited edition piece correct? I do really like it, but the budget was blown in the January sale.

Well spotted. To be fair, though they do call it a field watch. I just find the colours dull. I’d like to see it with a royal blue dial, white lume plots and an orange chapter ring and GMT hand.
