New pro600 this year?
New pro600 this year?
Do you we think it’s likely the new trident pro 600 will be released this year? What other releases do you think are up and coming?
Re: New pro600 this year?
I would be surprised if CW release a 600m dive watch.

Loupe 32 teased an 'ultimate' C60 300 coming sometime in 2024.
I'm not sure the 600 or the Elite 1000 are long for this world. CW by all appearances has gone all in on the 300 and the C65 variants.

As they should and I’m not quite sure how it can get much better. Love to see what they do though. Maybe ceramic ball bearings in the bezel and clasp like Tudor?
Always blue!

Re: New pro600 this year?
First, I think there is room in the line for a more professional offering. The 600 provides that.
Second, not everyone prefers the dimensions of the 300. My Ombre is almost perfect. 42mm case diameter. Just under 14mm thick.
There is a lot that could be improved in my view. Offer a model without the gloss. The 300, currently, is too glossy. The inner bezel ring should either turn with the timing bezel of the bezel should be changed to 60 clicks. Right now you can put the pip between markers which is odd.
The 'ultimate' is going to be a nice watch but ultimately not for me. It will be titanium, COSC and be spruced up a bit.
The 1000 is very close to being great but there are some small niggles that keep me from getting one.

Re: New pro600 this year?
I'm inclined to agree. Looking at the website the 300 models present as a complete range whereas the black and blue Elite 1000 model look like two odd watches (as does the Lympstone I think). The whole lightcatcher case design language looks much more up-to-date. I'm keeping my 1000GMT: maybe it's something to watch out for in the upcoming sale?

Re: New pro600 this year?
I've always like the Lympstone. If pressed I wouldn't be able to give you a good reason why I don't own one.
I agree that the refined lightcatcher design is better. I always felt that the curve of the lugs on the older models was a little too severe. It makes the case look a little odd. The more refined taper of the new models looks really good. This is one aspect of my Ombré that I would change. I think that the Lympstone would look better with the new design as well.
Thinking out loud here, if there is a Lympstone in the sale for short money I might have to think long and hard about that one.

I'm assuming that would be the Mark IV version of the 600 probably with an applied twin flag logo??

@Masterwoodsman
Yes.
If, and on current analysis it's a big if, there is to be a new C60 Trident Pro 600.

Re: New pro600 this year?
Yes, I can see a big depth diver might complete a range, but 42mm,x 14mm for a tool watch is surely not going to sell to the masses nowadays, in competition against even the 300, never mind other brands. I wear 42mm, but I don't think I have 14mm thick watches other than chronographs..rkovars wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 3:08 amFirst, I think there is room in the line for a more professional offering. @JAFO Well, they’d certainly not sell one to ME, but we do see a steady stream of lamentations about the general lack of larger watches. Maybe it will help to address that. Who knows?

Re: New pro600 this year?
I specifically asked Mike France in a livestream earlier this year if they were still on target to release a Mk4 version of the C60 Trident Pro 600 and his response was a clear no. He said with all of the success of the 300 series they would be focusing on that design going forward.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 9:12 am @Masterwoodsman

Re: New pro600 this year?
I think there's an element of fashion involved. The zeitgeist is now for smaller watches, hence the proliferation of 36mm variants, which I don't want personally. At some point fashion trends will return to.larger watches I imagine.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 9:49 am @JAFO Well, they’d certainly not sell one to ME, but we do see a steady stream of lamentations about the general lack of larger watches. If it isn't too difficult maybe CW could do a limited release of a new C60 in a larger size, in a similar mode to the AMW Collab/ Studio Underdog. The cost of tooling up for such a limited release might not work though. If 3 x cost includes all the one off design costs the SP might well be too high.

Re: New pro600 this year?
Smaller and slimmer watches are certainly the most popular right now. If we are lucky we'll see 42, 40 and 38mm watches become the norm in most ranges. If we're unlucky it will be 40, 38 and 36mm watches. My money can go elsewhere and indeed it already has...
As for Trident 600 Mk 4. The king is dead long live something else. I don't we'll see this one come back any time soon. The 600 is the Richard III of the CW line and the 300 is Henry VII after Bosworth. I'm not going to bury my 600 in a car park in Leicester though. I like the design of the 300 but they've never managed to have it in a colourway I liked. Maybe in a few years we can resurrect the 600 but, right now, I'm not optimistic.
