New moon phase watch
Re: New moon phase watch
I think you will definitely notice it when the last sliver of moon disappears, and the new moon reappears the next day.

Re: New moon phase watch
Interesting discussion on this thread about how to set the moonphase complication. But what about setting the time? How easy (or difficult) is it to set the time accurately, as there are no minute markers? Or does that not bother you? I assume this watch has hacking seconds?
Re: New moon phase watch
I think the hacking seconds are somewhat immaterial and really might just unnecessarily call attention to any timing inaccuracy. If it was just a two hander you would never even consider how accurately it was running, and I think slow time would suit the slow moon.Templeton wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 8:26 am Interesting discussion on this thread about how to set the moonphase complication. edit. having said that it does come with a seconds hand so it most likely means a bit more care setting the watch.

^^^^ @Templeton
Yes, it has 'hacking seconds'.
How to set it? My favourite is to set it (accurately) at 30 mins past the hour. Minutes hand at 6/30 lined up in the gap between 'swiss' and 'made', with the seconds hand in line pointing to 12.

Re: New moon phase watch
That makes sense Guy; it was a concern of mine about buying this watch. I guess I would just have to be patient when setting it.

^^^^ Once you've got one, you'll get the hang of it. Just as you'll get the hang of setting the Moonphase itself.
