New member interested in selling

Post by doradisco »

Hi to the CW Forum,

I've been a fan of CW watches for some time and worked hard on justifying my first CW watch (a CII MSL Mk1 Auto in brown) and then my second (a C8 Pilot Mk II Auto in brown). Love them to bits but money's a bit tight at the mo so I'm reluctantly looking to sell them (anything that's not screwed down in our house is finding it's way onto eBay!). I've seen CW watches on eBay but that doesn't seem the right place to be selling them when here's an active fan forum out there!

I understand the 30 posting rule (normal on this type of forum) and I'm prepared to become an active forum member if I have to, but as a genuine (but reluctant) seller, I wondered if the moderators would let me put them on sale sooner?

When the £s are flowing again, I can work on another justification to get back in the CW club - quite like the look of the new C1000 Typhoon, being a bit of an aviation buff, as I am.

Hope you can help.

Cheers,

Andrew

I think I know what the answer to this question will be.
Trying not to buy any more watches...

Andrew,

welcome to the forum - you will see that this topic has been discussed quite a lot :)
the simple reality is that watches do better generally on ebay, so if money is your need - then ebay is probably the way forward...
if though you are wanting a great forum with lots of knowlegeable people, then do join in it wouldn't be long before you had 30 posts and then the sales corner would be open to you...
I think that the sales corner is simply locked to 30 posts, so evern for very polite new members the rule applies :)

Nice try with a different approach...the answer will still be no though.

That's very kind of you Andrew.

I hope you don't mind if I pass on your very gracious offers.

Any CW watch you put in ebay will soon be noted upon thus forum so you aren't losing out on any potential customers.

I guess you know where this is going.

Although I can appreciate your situation I am unable to grant your request.

I appreciate that you wish to offer your watches to the forum first, but there are other avenues available to you to sell.

If you choose to stick around, regardless of whether you sell the watches or not that would be a good thing to join in "The Asylum" banter. You might learn something along the way. perhaps you could even teach us something.

The rules are in place for a reason, quite reasonable and the guidelines easily attainable. If you haven't already, and I suspect you have. search around and you will find plenty of talk on the subject.

if you decide to sell elsewhere I wish you good luck. If you choose to stick around I welcome you.

What he said. Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you are having to sell your CW watches. Stick around awhile, we are a pretty good group of people.
