This happens frequently, I think I remember someone saying something on the lines over 50 still available. No wonder the damn site crashes etc when baskets are filled just to see how many there are left.
If the information isn’t useful to anyone, then fair enough... however if someone was sitting this weekend thinking they had until next week to order, knowing there are 3 in stock could make a massive difference. A fair number of sites (Amazon being one) will actually show you the stock level when it gets low.

There is a world of difference between adding items to a basket during a low transaction time (i.e. non sale) and doing it when a sale is on... as far as I know the site only crashes at sale time, if it happens at other times, then CW seriously need to rethink their online (i.e. primary) sales platform :problem:

Besides, you’ll be lucky enough to get to add one item to your basket during a sale, let alone multiple

There is still a batch in Biel. I know 'cos that's where the watch with my memorable serial number is.
Seems that’s what’s happened, the UK stock has now run out, but pre-order is available and so some stock in Switzerland as you say

Yes. The elapsed minutes are recorded on a separate minutes hand on the main dial.
I see 1/10 seconds subdial, running seconds subdial, hours subdial, seconds chronograph hand, and regular hour and minute hands. What is tracking chronograph minutes?

My order changed earlier to “Order status: Being prepared for despatch”

Not sure if that’s next step from ordering! I vaguely remember a status of “order received”

If I’m correct, please say if I’m not, then despatch could be imminent. Monday perhaps 🤞🏻

An additional minutes hand in the centre of the main dial...

Mine is the same. Anytime next week is fine with me...just hope mine isn't one of these currently out in Switzerland..as I asked for a specific number.
Let's see what Monday brings, but hopefully it's a despatch notification!

Likewise, mine has gone from “pre-order” to “preparing for dispatch”, that usually means it will leave CW on Monday... fingers crossed 🤞

Continues to be
‘ order release in progress’ for me whatever that means. I’m guessing not being processed in the order that we ordered
Cheers now, Paul

It is, isn’t it?! Without the central minutes on my AM GT LE, it would be useless as a chronograph because I couldn’t read it!

Wait... people actually use the chronographs functions? I'll be the first person to admit I never use it... occasionally when I'm bored and I want to see the hands move... 8)
How does one properly sear a steak on the grill without a chronograph? I use mine for cooking more than for anything else.

Yep. A few times a week usually. Going out walking, timing stuff in the kitchen, a few other things. Useful piece of kit.
Walking and running I get but wouldn't countdown timers be more useful in the kitchen? I tried using bezels to time my runs but I always forget to check my watch when I stop... lol Guess it's not really for people like me... I do like the style in the photos, hopefully I'll like it in person as well.

I find it useful if, for example, I put something in the oven for an hour. I will set the oven timer to ping after an hour, for sure, but setting the chronograph means I can go and do something different in another part of the house or even in the garden and have an idea when it’s time to start cooking vegetables, for instance. And what could be more stylish than a six minute egg timed using a Speedmaster? :D

I’ve always found them very useful in teaching for giving short, timed tasks during a lesson.

Now that is a fine example of a tool watch being put to proper use, Chris.

I used to overthink these things a bit. I did it with the GMT, which I only ever wore in the UK and the Canaries (same time), and Greece/Cyprus (+2h, which I could manage in my head). Mind you, the 40mm version would make a good all-round holiday watch - the 43 was too big and heavy. Superb watch, though. 8)

I did wonder whether 200m WR and SD crown were really OK for water based activities. Then I realised the hotel pools I use are only 2m deep at most, and in God's Own Swimming Pool I only use the top metre or so. :jump:

Maybe a flieger. For the flight, you know? That big dial and extra lume will be so useful in Seat 5D under the cabin lights on the morning flight to Paphos.

But a cooking chronograph is a different matter! :D

A little defensive I felt !

Theres no doubt they had a 'Spike' lat Thursday & Friday with C65 AM 2VEV - but the limited & restricted resources you describe have been in place for weeks - recently I saw posts extolling their virtues with quick if not immediate dispatch of watches after the last NN Sale & other day-to-day sales.

I'd think the 'Critical path' for the VEVs is the QC Inspection pre-dispatch - the Tech's can only work in a Dust-free environment, so cant be done other than on the Premises (lets hope they are more thorough than some of the issues seen recently on New Watches) ... otherwise its Status Quo for sales & Admin ....

Which & whatever its good they are working at all !

Its worth remembering that CW are working under social distancing and Lockdown arrangements.

To this end, those staff that can, are working from home e.g. most of the CS department (Vallen is working only one day per week at CW Towers).

The service/repair team are working with hugely reduced capacity; they have to do the final QC on a watch before it goes out the door.

It is no surprise therefore that it will take a few days to get all the initial orders for the 1 VEV & 2 VEV away; particularly with the spike in orders there seems to have been.

Remember; good things come to those who wait.

I just found another use for a chronograph. We have moved from testing for Coronavirus at work to home testing twice weekly. I shall be doing mine Sunday and Wednesday.

You have to time it for half an hour while the test strip soaks up your tonsil and nostril juices :kotz: so I put on the trusty Speedy.

Negative, thankfully.
