I like the different textures on the dial and I think the blue really pops. I'd be more interested if the lume and markers were all white. I find the two colors to be stretching for differentiation without contributing to a cohesive design.

Otherwise, I find the Sector to be a compelling offer.

Best,

Leon

Thanks! Changing the lume on the hands to white was not possible. I tried and tried... On the plus side the beige lume adds a bit warms to the dial.

Agree that this is much better than the Formex Sector. I love sector dials and this is one of the best I've seen. Count me in and thanks for designing this beauty!

I saw the Formex X Worn & Wound Essence Sector about the time I was finalising my design - so not taken any inspiration from them at all. And I think not only my CW Azure Sector 38 is cheaper, it's also better looking! The formex has a flat crystal and very sporty case, which is not that suitable to a classic sector design in my view.

Yes, 100% agree.
Regardless of the price, the case design and use of the hour, minute and seconds hands really won over me vs the Formex.
My wife thinks I have a watch problem. I'm a glass half-full guy, I think of it as a healthy interest in horology ;)

When I saw Sector in the title, I first thought of Nodus, a micro from the west coast of the US.

I like the Sport and Field model dials, but I'm not a fan of the Seiko lower end movements.

Sector dials go all the way to 1930s and 1940s.

Is the name sector dial simply a reference to that design element on the dial, or is their a specific type of function sector dials originally might have been developed for that’s now not so relevant?

I suppose I could google it…

It is any dial that is segmented into 'sectors' or sections. Technically, the LE is considered a sector dial.

Ha! Hadn't seen that one. Quite colorful.

There was also this sector LE. I personally am not a fan of its looks.

That was the worn and wound collaboration, right? It wasn't my speed either personally.
