I’ve done this with my last two purchases - 36mm C63 and then a Consort bracelet. I saved money on both occasions. In fact, when I bought the C63, it was a sizable difference because of the exchange rate. I think the Lou d has improved a bit since then.
I wonder if one can get the basic Sealander on a strap under $800US if paying in GBP to avoid import duty.

Exactly, we moved away from the King to avoid taxes only to be taxed by our own (somewhat new) governing body.

It is a tragedy in the USA because all we do is complain about high taxes (yet they are very low when compared to most of the world) but we also want all of the social services that higher taxes pay for in other countries.

That is two definitions of irony.

That used to be a standard manoeuvre a couple of years ago when virtually all CWs hit that criteria. Buy on the strap, and buy the bracelet separately.

Watch head only would be a great option to boost US sales, perhaps.

I had initially heard about it years ago from a Random Rob YouTube video. Buy watch on strap. Buy bracelet later. Save BIG on import duty.

If one can get the selling price under $800US after being converted from GBP. No duties are charged. Leaving a $5US cushion, keep the price to 740GBP or less and it works for Sealander on strap or Valour on bader (of course the Trident 300 just misses the cutoff mark).

A nice assortment of new colors. Not for me, currently, as they don’t surpass ones I already own. It’s good to see GMT options deepening in the CW line.

From Mike's email today:
Ironically we are releasing a new Trident Pro 300 GMT line on August 1st which was announced today on our social channels so I will have an example of this collection with me for you to see in the metal…

So he will have at least one but which one is anyone's guess.
I think this means I will see you on the 1st.

Yesterday I wrote that I thought the navy dial would look better with the navy/white bezel and now I know why...

I believe @reubicon has done the very same recently with a couple of C60 Trident Pro 600s, to achieve the dial / bezel colour combination he was after.

He bought two watches and swapped bezels; reporting afterwards that he felt to swap the dial / movement within the case would be an easier & neater task to achieve the same result.

I suppose swapping the insides might be easy if you were competent at doing that. It's just pretty much take the back off, and release the crown, isn't it?

I think I am competent enough (I work in IT and use to fix laptops all the time) but do not have the tools and/or desire to do it myself. I do not mind paying a professional to do the work but thought I could at least guide the person based on past experience(s) from the forum.

Why even ask a watchmaker to remove a bezel insert, pop off the entire bezel assembly, or swap movements until I have some sense from others who have gone down this path before on a CW. As an example, if this were a Squale diver, there would be no question that I would have the bezel inserts swapped because those "screwed-in" bezels can be a pain to deal with but the bezel insert comes off as easily as on a Seiko.

When I first saw the pictures of these I seriously thought about buying the white dial or blue dial versions. I was leaning towards the white dial. While studying the dials (as you do) trying to make a decision, I noticed the numeral one on the 10,12, 14, 16,18 look like an upside down L. Comparing these numerals to other CW GMT's it looks like they made the top of the numerals longer on this version than others. It seems like a strange decision to make the numeral one look like the letter L. I still might buy one of these as I like the overall look, but am having a hard time unseeing this now :)

^^^ I noticed that font choice too. It is there on my C65 just not as pronounced. It wouldn't be enough for me to pass though. It is more than likely far less noticeable on the wrist than in a large render shot.
